I was thinking we should give a short discription and maybe rate the site 1-10, include access to water (lake, pond, river etc...), hiking trails or any thing else. Local points of interest are good to include.

Oh yea, please put the state the site is in, in the heading, this will help searching later, thanks.

Verona Beach Satet Park, NY

Located at the Eastern end of Oneida Lake, NY I would rate it a 10. Access to Oneida Lake, Black Creek and Oneida Creek is just up the road. There are cattail marshes and swamps as well, the "Woods and Wetlands" nature trail is awesome and they have hiking, biking and a bridal trail as well. Part of the park is open, in season, to hunting Deer, small game and waterfowl. The Erie canal villiage is only a few minutes away near Rome, NY and the Boxing Hall of fame is even closer in Canastota.
 
Stoney Creek RV Resort, Osseo, WI 10+

Very, very nice place. Very small child friendly also. The place has had a lot of money put into it over the last few years. All the roads in the campground are paved, lots of pull through sites and every site has a concrete pad and is very level. ATVs are welcome but only to get to the trailhead which is just across the entrance to the campground. Some of the cleanest bathrooms that I have seen around. Nice pool area and a nice kiddy pool, snack bar and mini golf. Very nice play area for the kids and site 69 (sorry, it really is) is directly across from the play area. Lots of lakes in the area and only 2.5 hours from the Mall of America.

Prices aren't too bad but they tend to nickle and dime you. We will be there Memorial Day weekend at site 69.

Jellystone Park, Warrens, WI 7

Jellystone Park in Warrens, WI is huge. On any given weekend 5,000 people will be there but you don't feel like you are not on top of the next site. It is kid heaven. All most all campsites are full hook ups. Golf carts are the way to get around because of the size of this place and are available for rent. The pull through sites are the best because they are the most level. Lots of things to do in the Warrens area for the outdoorsman and in the fall there is Cranfest, but get your reservations in ASAP as it will fill up fast. Great pool are for kids, and if you are there during inclement weather there is an indoor waterpark as well. Very expensive.

Limekiln State Park Inlet NY

We started going to the Old Forge area three years ago. Limekiln has a nice beach - decent boat ramp and the lake is big enough for waterskiing and fishing etc. We bring kayaks but have seen plenty of folks doing this otherwise.

Each site has a huge bear-locker - sites are well-spaced and the park is clean. Kids love it because it's in the woods and there are trails everywhere for them to run around on.

Wife likes it because there's no cell coverage and I don't end up working the whole time we're there! :)

There are sites on the water - but they are booked months in advance - we tried to book 6 months in advance and they were gone.

ReserveAmerica is the reservations - same as all State Parks.
 
Association Island - Henderson NY (Near Watertown)

Our first trip with the trailer was to this park. It's more of a resort - but it's close to Central NY and I figured if we got stuck without something it was a short-trip home :)

Had a water-front site last fall - was great - our first trip of the season each year is to this place.

They have all of the amenities - so its not roughing it - but the kids enjoy it - plenty of fishiing and swimming in the pool.

State run park, with water and drop station, on lake Ontario, pull through sites down to tent sites (or up to depending on how you view it) nice trails and plenty of fishing spots. I give it a 7.

Awesome park, water and electrical + dump station. Boat launch, marina, hiking and nature trails, next to The Eisenhower Dam (damn those are big ships) kids had a blast at the learning station, fishing was great. rate it a 7. Theres a mall in Massena and restaurants.
 
East TN is the place to camp:hurray:

TVA has two real nice campgrounds on watts bar lake, Sandy bottoms and Hornsby hollow, both right on the lake, good shade, and nice boat ramps.
 
Park Moabi, Needles, CA

One of my favorite spots is Park Moabi, Needles, California. Nestled on the Colorado River just 1 mile north of Interstate 40. Across the river and you are in Arizona. The campground has campsites on the river with hookups and a private beach/campsite. There are regular campsites in the marina, first come first serve. Some of the best boating next to Lake Powell. Topoc Gorge is just downriver providing 17 miles of a natural game preserve, beautiful scenary, good striper fishing, and the gateway to Havasu City. You can boat from the campground 50 miles to Parker Dam and Lake Havasu. Enroute you can stop in Havasu City for shopping, food, or ****tails at the famous Naked Turtle Palapa bar. Havasu is popular with the younger generations and is basically home to the best "girls gone wild" videos:drool5: I wish I could post some pictures but I have reached my 2 picture limit. My favorite place in Iowa is Pikes Peak State Park by MacGregor Iowa. Fantastic view of the Mississippi river valley.
