When it rains it pours....

FYI, I had one FRB5 left so about a month ago I threw it up on ebay. Got $199 for it. If yours are brand new still you might give it a try. Up to you.

They were used and I got them for ~$20 each and one came with a rebuild kit so I couldn't say no. Ive thought about reselling them but I have enough trucks that I can use them somewhere, they did ok for 6.x users for along time so I see no reason why to give them the boot right now. When I start trying to push myluck more with my 6.5's then I know I will need to step up to FRC 10 or bigger.

I'd try the tranny electronics kit first before going for a rebuild. If it doesn't help that much should be knocked off the rebuild price. I did a thread in the tranny section on the install of the kit.

Can my TCC valve be fixed with the tranny in the truck? It doesn't cause problems usually since I got a chip but IDK what will happen if it gets worse???

Yes, you can take that whole valve body piece out of the tranny and if you want to beef up the TCC and force motor valves, then there is the sure cure kit. I have the reamers needed to pass around to anyone, sent to me by another member. Otherwise just changing the solenoids/valve will likely improve things a lot.

ACDELCO Part # 252717 or ACDELCO Part # 251590

Which is the right water pump? I am looking for the 97/98 style with bolt on flange.

Looks like the one I bought , I can't rememberthe part # but mine has HO stamped on it and I'm using the four bolt and DMAX fan and it works great.

I'll see if I can find the receipt and let you know for sure unless someone else chimes in.

The difference in them is one is a cast impeller and the other is pressed impeller. Both turn up on rock auto as a 98 Pump wich SHOULD be HO.

This is my shopping list. I am only really conserned with my "stage 1" things. There are a few more things I need to add. Like ATF, ATF Filter, Retuning, VSSB adjust, Coolant, Engine oil, Amsoil BP100 oil filter, and some other odds and ends I am sure i am leaving out.

Please feel free to reply with suggestions to add to the list, cheaper places to get parts, or what ever you think needs to be done.

Thanks,
Tanner
