of course as you know I am new to Diesel Haulin. I was a Ford guy sence 99 had the old 7.3 very good motor. Just bought a 06 6.6 LBZ like it a lot more. Put the Banks big Hoss bundel on it, some 10 lug 22.5 milled down to 22 its a 1 ton. My goal is to get it to run 13s or 14s in the quarter so I thought I would join and hope to get some ideas and good pointers.

You might get to the high 13's, I don't know with a Banks. Is your truck 4x4?

Welcome to the forum.

It is a 4x4. I got the banks stuff for there new exhaust brake witch is sweet and there exhaust and entake. the chip has a lot of safetys i need to turn off but the cumputer is still learning the tran. I ran a 18.5 in the 1/4. the pda has some cool features like 1/8,1/4 and 0-60 software test you can run. I could change the chip to a EFI live they sound pretty sweet. I also have been reading about this water/met injection at snow proformance. whats with eveyone and these tie rod sleeves? I saw that video of your 8.1 nice.

does that airdogII help alot I never heard of that before I going to start researching it.

Oh yes, it's a must have I think. The Tie-Rod sleeves are exactly that, "sleeves" that thread onto your existing tie rods to keep them from bending or breaking under a 4x4 launch (like my 8.1 drag video)

I dropped .3 in the 1/8th by just the AirDog.

EFI Live is the way to go. It's the best tuning tool on the market!

I ran a 10.3 in the 1/8@75miles still working with the computer. I just finally got the trany to learn the shifting and raced, my friends chiped up 6.0 and won. I am going to play with the computer some more this week and go to the track friday. Oh my truck is a 1 ton dually. That water/meth sounds like the way to go to save your pistons and push more fuel. Whats your max boost my is up in the 38psi.

I would only recommend ~35 or so at short periods of time. Remember, higher the boost doesn't always yield the best results. Our factory turbo can only do so much. I'm maxing out at 30 right now (If I can remember right).

But, with your times you have a lot left in the truck.

Thanks, I didn't get to run at the track do to the crappy weather out here but i did get to put it down on some late night 1/4 mile runs got it down to a 15.1 I was using the tow haul manual mode was my best time so far. My friend with the ford is a sore loser again he put a new chip on and still lost. What a bout that egr delete kit why haven't you done that other than i haven't read of any hp or mpg gains from it.

I ran a 15.1 in the 1/4 the other day I am ordering a leveling kit and tie rod sleeves this weekend so Ican run some more 4x4 hole shots I unlocked the speed loaded on my six gun and the 4x4 shot makes the front end go crazy so before I lose the tie rods I will wait on the tuning till they come. what do you think about the egr delete kits do the help much for the LBZ 06s

Well, if you want comfort and haulass cheaper than others, you buy a Chevy and EFILIVE. And IMO, you bought the correct year(06) truck.

what is IMO? I ordered some sleeves and a leveling kit and a stage two water/meth kit from snow proformance. Hope to have it all on satrday. Now I am weried about my trany. I have been looking around and have some ideas what do yuo all think?

Suncoast Stage IV Kit would be my suggestion.

Talk to others and ask questions to as many people as possible before you spend 3000.00 on a kit. There are many vendors on this site that can help with this decision. Go to other sites as well to do your research.

With Banks you will never get the full potential out of your Duramax, they are good units for people who tow alot but if you want fast a flexible EFI is the only way to go.

As for your tranny I would look into a good stage IV kit from Mike L. he can get you pointed in the right direction.

thanks guys i have been looking at the suncoast stage V or IV I cant mak up my mind with what I want to do to the motor in the future. I havent talked to any one at suncoast about it yet. I see that Idao Rob is a dealer for it to. And will give a discount on the install if you get the kit form him. Who is Mike L. I saw the stuff when he helped Dura with his stage 4. How can I get ahold of Rob and mike? What About that EGR delete is it worth messing with? I also herd that the Push rods in the motor can bend when you get up in the 700hps. If thats true I dont want to deal with that. I would stick with the sun stage4.
