Just took my 3500 out on it's first trip with the holiday trailer. Temp stayed mostly around 90C, but slowly worked it's way up to 106C now and again.

Is this something to be concerned about? It's still a long way from the red, but seems plenty hot to me.
 
I think the majority would say 210 F or 98 C is the limit of what these truck should be subjected too. Mine does the same thing as yours, but never stays at that temp for more than a minute or two, and usually on hills or hard acceleration. I don't see any way of avoiding that even with the upgrades, as mine comes down almost as soon as it goes up. Noticed a big improvement with the rads clean out.
FYI for you yanks out there, 106 F is 222 F.
 
It only climbed that high when I went up short hills and cooled down going down the hills.
It also seemed odd that the fan didn't come on. Just hoping I didn't do any damage!

Sure sign you need a fan clutch then. They are known to wear out from age.
Do your homework, check our vendors, you may want a Heavy Duty calibrated one. Search for fan clutch lots info out there.

You should hear that badboy roar the fan.
 
You can replace the clutch yourself with a Hayden Severe duty or just buy the Heath Severe Duty or Kennedy Severe duty depending on which water pump you have. The Heath is the big nut and the Kennedy is the 4 bolt. Both are good or you can buy the clutch from NAPA for about a buck and half. Over 210f =bad.
Clean your rad and coolers. Many threads on this. Are you hitting these temps towing or empty. If your hitting them empty you definitely have a problem.
 
I'm only hitting them towing after climbing a grade with a 5th wheel holiday trailer doing 75mph in to a 20mph headwind. No problem if I'm not doing that.
 
Yeah, it doesnt really matter what youre doing when you get to that temp. Everybody can say without a load their truck runs at 190 all day, but the cooling system is supposed to keep it that way under load too. Definately figure out why the fan isnt kicking in to do its job. Either there is no flow through radiator there, being dirty, or clutch is worn.
