What's this hydro boosting upgrade to a 20011

I think the HB's are more robust, they have a larger accumulator on them, also the MC's are larger bore like on the HD versions of our rigs along with the nicer style fluid canister with the twist off top.

I might have access to an 03 express van for doing just this! but I too would like to know what difference it would bring if any for a rig that already has an HB. for those converting from vacuum boosters, it a day/night difference.

Also one thing to note. in the search link posted, there are some other forums telling you to drill a different pattern in the firewall for the NBS HB mounting. really all you have to do is swap out the mount plate from the old HB to the new one and it will bolt right up! the mount plate is held on with a large nut threaded onto the HB. the plate has a notch on one side to keep it from rotating on the HB. if that notch is in the wrong place on the new HB. just carve out a new on on the old plate.

Edit: I almost forgot about the rod that connects to the pedal. that might be where the problems begin. if that rod is not the same length, some modifications would be needed. those rods are not removable or at least not easily done.

The hydroboost mod I would like to have is the older medium duty trucks would use a hydroboost like a JB6, JB7, or similar- but there was a 12v electric motor that when demand for steering or braking was present but no fluid flow from the pump- the electric motor would kick in and supply it.
Then some of them had a separate reservoir that held about one quart. So even if you blew a line it would have enough for you to hit the brakes a couple times.

I only heard of this recently myself. There's a fellow I'm getting some GMT800 parts from sometime next month who has done this upgrade and offered to share how to go about it. I'll pick his brain when we meet up and report back here. Apparently it's a very noticeable difference especially when done in conjunction with the GMT800 front brake upgrade

Please do share when you have the details. there is a good chance a buddy of mine who has a 03 3500 express van I might be able to get all these parts from. I am sure some will be different than a pickup, but I will be in the hopes most all the important items will be the same.

Would that be similar to a hydro boost off a 1996 350 gasser suburban?

Would that be usable on our 6.5s?

I still have all the parts I listed a long time ago
