Like title says. I occasionally will tow a boat to the landing a few miles or a light tractor so I don't really need a tune for towing. I will however huck a pallet of bricks in the bed and go to a job. I have done this before all the upgrades including guages, so I don't know if I was cooking the mill or not. I have a Heath tune that works fine but will defuel because of boost and need to reflash. My plans are to get a slide in camper that weighs about 1500 pounds for hunting about the continent with my new setter pup. It will also be useful for keeping pup out of sun while striper fishing. Should I be getting a tune for towing for this application? Thanks

I can't understand why it would defuel with an ATT. Never happened on mine and I have a Heath tune for the ATT.

I have a tune that is good for all around, I really really like how it runs and fuel mileage is good. This tune is in an obd 2 truck. Shouldn't detune unless the code 78 is setting which will happen with the gm 8 tune as the part of the tune that sets those parameters is not set for the ATT it also affects the fueling and timing. If you are looking at a new tune you might be better to get one from someone else rather than a shop that doesn't care for a competitors product. That way at least you will be getting the full potential of the A-Team. I am looking into doing the OBD2 tune Westers has done one for me with my tune,You may want to ask KOJO if he would do a tune for you with the parameters from my tune, I know he can do that or it can be arraigned if you are so inclined. Pm me if you want to see if we can get someone to do it.

When I got the heath tune I had a gm8. If I stay on the accelerator and the boost gets to about 17 and egt at 900 the truck will go limp at 55 mph. Neither the engine or trans are throwing codes anymore. The tune was also set for a turbomaster. I am going to send the ecm out to kojo as I was put off by the att being called a polecat with tiger stripes painted on it. I guess my question is If I use the truck to haul heavy loads in the bed should I get the towing version?

In short, yes. Whether it's in your bed or hitched behind you, a heavy load is a heavy load. Something that adds about 40 HP/80lb/ft tuned specifically for your ATT will give you more oomph and still deliver decent mileage, in fact you might even see higher mpg's, if you keep your right foot out of gear head mode.

If you got your tune from Heath, call him up and ask him about getting it updated for your new turbo. He has a tune that works pretty good for ATT, and he's done reflashes for other guys that changed their turbo out.

You have to leave the harnass connectors plugged in to the vac soleniods for Heaths tune to work without setting codes.
