What is the latest and greatest in the engine oil cooler line world?

I may need a kit for the 1994 K3500? Who's kits come with the 4X4 oil filter adapter o rings?

Has anybody been able to address the way the lines in the kits bend up to attach to the cooler? I've never really cared for the way that end of my projects have turned out. They always seemed a little bindy.

I also need a T put in one of the lines to supply my FS2500 bypass oil filter.

HAS ANYTHING CHANGED IN THE KITS? How are the instructions? Is there a link to installing anything?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I just want the easiest, and most presentable install.

I bought 2 large coolers and had my local Hyd shop make up 3/4" high temp braided lines. the coolers use the stock lower mounting bracket and a simple "L" bracket was made for the top. The cooler I used can be found here.

This is what I have.... I will have them mounted so that the fittings are at the top so that they will always be full with out any air trapped inside them.

My cost - each cooler - 80.00, top brackets - 0.0 , 3/4" ID Teflon braided line, ( total of 18 feet, + fittings ) 360.00

I sent him an email with the measurements for the T. I haven't followed up with a call yet. That is where I got most of my other line kits. I think I got one or 2 from Leroy also.

I do not really KNOW WHAT THE DIFFERENCES ARE BETWEEN THEIR kits. If there are any.

I've been trying Leroy for a Metrum Rod Fuel Sending Unit for the Tahoe http://www.pmdcable.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=19

Is he completely shut down for September? Does anybody else have a similar product? I'd really like to get that Tahoe done right now.

I bought a Tru Cool oil cooler and made up my own hoses with Earls components.

Pipe to AN straight adapter in the cooler and (as I recall) 45 degree bent tube hose ends. I have oil squirters, so I went with -10 (5/8") hose.

I also need a T put in one of the lines to supply my FS2500 bypass oil filter.

Adding a tee is no problem if you make you own hoses, but why can't you just plumb inline?

I can tell you that you will get one or the other, but not both. Auto plumbing is not easy if you want it to look good. Since you will not be doing a standard install you will probably spend hours determining the correct placement of the oil filter, routing and measuring the lines, etc. I suggest you get some heater hose and use it for the layout, then once you are happy use the real hose. If you are making them yourself, install one hose end, then measure and cut the hose. Do not cut it short or you will be sorry. One more thing, if you assemble your own braided hoses, get this slick tool from Koul Tools They are worth the price.

I guess I'm not understanding what you are doing here. Is the Tee on the supply or return? Don't the filter and cooler share a supply and return? Seems to me you want both inline, but maybe I'm missing something.

The supply to the bypass filter is T'd off the supply to the engine oil cooler. The return from the oil cooler is untouched. The return from the bypass filter goes to the oil fill neck at the front of the engine

The way the 94 lines are run OEM, they come much higher on the inner fender. My line running from the T to the bypass filter is shorter than on the other vehicles where I tapped into the supply of the kit line just behind the radiator.

I could order the kit as is and then take it to the local shop. But it's easier to order and not drive 37 miles round trip to find out they were out of one of the fittings needed

I wish I knew my fittings. I'm sure something could be made to attach to the coolers so the line attachment fittings were already pointed towards the back of the vehicle.
