I got pulled over doing 60 in a 45. The cop let me off because I was slowing down for town. He said "Man, I don't know how fast you were going before. I saw you coming for a few miles and it didn't take you long to get here."

I was doing about 130 when he was watching me. Different days back then.

Had a cop try and catch me for 8 miles. I got behind a neighbor an 1/8 mile from the house.
He asked me if I knew he was back there and if I was trying to outrun him.

I said No, I never saw any lights or anything. An occassional car, but nothing close.

He said he never got close enough to turn his lights on. And that he really didn't think I was trying to outrun him because I stopped at the stop signs and didn't even try to pass my neighbor. If I had been trying to out run him, I'd have pushed the peddle a little harder.

It was a bit like Dukes of Hazard around here back in those days

Fastest on 2 wheels was 72 mph, and I used to have the framed ticket to prove it. Framed because it was on a bicycle. (Looong steep fwonking hill on a 12 speed racing bike, with a State Trooper behind me. He pulled me over at the bottom and I begged him to write the ticket.)

When Dad was in college he was going to class on his roommate's bike, turns out the brakes didn't work. He says going down the big hill on the way to campus he was passing cars in a 55 mph zone and had to run the red light at the bottom of the hill. Says when it stoped he got off and just left it there.

FAstest I have been clocked by the fuzz?... 163! Fastest I have been on a highway?.......Y'all wouldn't believe it anyway! Will say it was a stock bodied Monte SS and a race motor from my circle track car at the time.

It was extremely stupid and I did it with passengers that trusted me way too much and still do. Any wrong move or a look from the many whitetail deer around here and we would have all been gonners!

Fastest I've ever driven: Somewhere around 135, in my black 00 Bonneville SSEi. Not going to say where that occurred, but I'm glad there weren't any deer out that night...

In the younger days my brother had a 60 's something model of a GTO and I had the speedo over the 130 on it but dont really know how fast I was going but it was good!!!. The best time I had going fast was a friend worked with a guy who maintained actor Paul Williams celebrity race car and it was like a smaller version of a formula one car. We helped tear it down after every race and go thru it. When it was back up and running you always had to test it . Scared the hell out of me but I have seen 165 and not even got thru all the gears but ran out of space to run it. But that was a fun 3 yrs doing that.

Some Illinois legislators have it as their stated goal to make as many offenses felonies as possible to reduce the number of legal gun owners.

This is one reason to get rid of liberal socialists. Our greatest danger is allowing these tyrants to remain in power.

135mph via efi live in my old duramax with 35s
120mph in and opel mini van (turbo diesel) on the autobahn
155mph in an audi s5

and the kicker..... 84mph per the CT troopers radar the other morning in the 1500........

130 in a sixty's renault rambler taking my mom to her suddenly dying mother.
Pedal on the floor the whole 25 ml to get there..came to late anyway.
posted speed limit 62 ml.

pegged the speedo(120) and gaining on a 58 triumph twin one time when the trottle cable broke and got wrapped/stuck in the front wheel axle, pulling it wide open...that was effen scary..(i was only 15)
I had the presence of mind to close the fuel valve and let the engine run out of gas.

I had that happen once but shut the key off as soon as I realized I was goin' for a helluva ride if I didn't do something right f**king now!

I'm rather sure I've never had a vehicle that had a speedometer that went higher than 120...well, maybe the dodge did. Anyhow, never wanted to chance a ticket. Top speed probably 95...

140 MPH in a used 1974 Ford LTD Police Cruiser with a 460 CID under the hood when Interstate 275 opened between I-75 in Northern Ky. and the Indiana state line.

Two wheeled: 165 on my Triumph 750 Bonneville on my way to work running late one day on I-80. Got to work in time to punch in in the three minute grace period (thank goodness for a Union contract!) before I was "late". Made up some serious time between the exit I got on near my house and the next one down where I got off to go to work. That two miles went by quick!:D

Four wheeled my vehicle: 141 in a 55 zone clocked by Lancaster County Sheriff Deputy Dave Halverstadt a few weeks before I graduated high school back in '79 in my 402 powered '72 Monte Carlo with a 2.73 rear diff. I had the speedo needle buried around to the second digit on the odometer (the 8 of 78,XXX miles) when I saw the headlights up ahead on the other side of the rise and backed off as I blew by the deputy going the other way at 12:30 am on a long straight on a two lane highway. I knew who it would be out that time of night, so I shut it down and let him catch up. I had known Dave since I was a little kid, he lived at the end of our block and his little brother was a year ahead of me in school. Got a half hour well deserved ass chewing on the side of the road with no ticket, but that was a whole hell of a lot better than losing my license and what my dad would have done to me. Same car two years later: Boise, ID to Wamsutter, WY in six hours, cruise control set at 115-120 most of the way except for some of the twisties on then I-80N (now I-84) in Utah and one very quick fuel stop half way to fill the tank. Still got better than 13 MPG! Sold the car in college for rent money. Man I wish I still had that car, should have told the landlord to eff off and slept in the car!

Four wheeled NOT my vehicle: 185 (timed by mile-markers over three miles) on I-80 in a friend's HIGHLY modified 455SD in a '70 Trans Am back in the summer of '80.

Me without a vehicle: Reached terminal velocity (~120MPH) six times jumping from 13,000' back in my wild and crazy days, which also happened to be three months after the Trans Am incident!
