what is the best air intake setup for a 93 6.5L td

x2 I like the K47 round air filter a lot better. more filtering media, no chance of mis-installation, unlike the flat panel, which is hard to get in there right.

PS, welcome to the site. also, this is definitely the place to ask about turning the screw up on the pump that you asked about on the other site.

Get rid of the snorkel in the fender. Use a bath towel to seal in the fender just behind where the snorkel was. (Hot air and dust control. Otherwise you change air filters a lot - seal the fender!) You want the air coming from the front part of the fender - not the hot air from the back or the dust from the tire thrown into the back of the fender. Way old TSB out there on sealing the fender elsewhere for dust.

Get a 3" or 4" exhaust with down pipe.

Replace the factory crossover - it likely has collapsed.

Get a turbomaster or different turbo...

Get a boost gauge

Get a EGT gauge.

Then turn up the screw!

thanks guys im gonna be getting the k47 this week if i find it.

yeah im gonna go with 4" turbo back exhaust still contimplating if i should get stacks or run it out the side, a friend said that stacks sound better.

stupid question im sure but whats a turbomaster? and yeah ive been looking at the only aftermarket turbo ive seen for my 6.5L and im getting soe gauges also

turbomaster replaces vacuum wastegate with a adjustable spring. I assume your looking at an ATT? Order you should do mods is guages, exhaust, tm, chip, FTB

oh ok thanks, yeah thats the only turbo ive seen thats available for my truck. i cant chip my truck from what ive been told, its a 93.

im gonna wait till i get everything else done and then read up on how to do it without making my truck go boom lol.

by chance do you know if they make an afermarket intercooler setup for my truck

I would do the lift pump/ Oil pressure control - OPC relay upgrade ahead of several of the other mods. It's cheap & fast to do and has the potential to save you $80 and labor in a forseeable timeframe.

The intercoolers are over $1200. Better off to get a ATT turbo for less money and not need all the plumbing and such that goes with the intercooler.:agreed: You already have mechanical boost control. What you have can be modified to become adjustable.
A couple pics of a k47 in a 93
