What color should I paint my new engine

What color should I paint my new engine?

Your rig is orange (nice one BTW)
so I vote for gloss black with orange intake, and may be orange heads & waterpump

Believe me the truck isn't orange by choice. Don't trust my current compressor to live long enough to paint the truck. If I didn't keep having stuff like clutches and engines die it would be a grey metalic.

I assume you mean your 6.5? If so, then I suggest Detroit Diesel metallic blue. If you're talking a gasser, then orange is the ONLY color for a Chevy motor.

Gloss black with aluminum on intake, crossover, timing cover and water pump. Chevy orange injection lines.

kinda like this idea.

I think detroit diesel colors though. that detroit green is annoyingly awesome.

(basically paint color is annoying, but it is always paired with the sound of a 2-cycle detroit, which is amazing, so that is where annoyingly awesome comes from! ):h)

Semi-gloss black. Great heat radiation; doesn't show fingerprints, dirt or oil leaks. Plus chicks really dig it. Every time you park your truck, they flock around and ask you to open up and show it off.

for your consideration.....just putting on the finishing touches

Thank you for your opinions. I know some colors were left out but I was limited to 10 choices.

My first choice of engine color was some shade of grey, but the only grey engine enamel I could find was Ford grey and I really didn't want to listen to the BI!@# about it being a Ford color. My next choices were black or Chevy orange(red). Your voting actually was about the same percentages I was thinking.

When I ordered the engine today and told the builder the engine color (black) and he said that they had recently started using a Massey Ferguson Flint Grey Metalic. Good response from purchasers. I decided to go with the grey.

If I don't like it when the engine gets here, it won't be the first engine I've painted.
