What a day....

Wrong part, its not cheap. Another Delco recommendation unfortunately there too. Critical part. Mine went a few years back..

My ignition is the same way when going to acc, i need to forward fast, then back fast kindof... its an art.

You gotta get right into that steering column to change it too... I didn't do mine, this was 3 years ago when I was 'scared' of working on the truck... Now I wont let anyone else ..

Matt, i think mine really is a lot cheaper than yours because of no airbag. Does anyone know where the box is located on a 94 and older truck??

Yep, you're right, they changed it 96 obd2 change... Lucked out for you, mine was in the hundreds.... I have no airbags, just newer style.

I had to do mine a few months ago and it did solve all the problems. I don't have air bags. I searched and can't find much on DTR about ignition switches and replacement. But here's some links to check. I would also suggest that it is not simply the tumbler, but the switch itself. I'm not sure if yours will be the same, but have a look. The last one I list was particularly helpfull in the R&R.

Good luck,

It doesn't look anything like mine that's for sure. I did a search as well, and what you are looking at seems to be the part.

Good luck,

The 94 steering colume is the old style with the switch located on top of the colume. Linkage rod attaches to lock mechanism. The mount for the switch has slots on it to adjust for correct position for the lock. Easiest to replace if steering colume is lowered down to the seat.

What does that little item do?? Where does it go? SO i have to take the colum apart? Like take the steering wheel of then lockplate? I might as well replace the tumbler as well correct??

You may want to shoot a PM to 94k30 . I know he was just in his colum for some work and he has a 94.

It looked to me that if you we replacing the switch that relatively inexpensive other part shoud go with it. I'm not too sure what it is, but may be the springy thing that is activated by turning the key. As Aces said, PM 94K30. He may be able to help you better.
