Installing a Pyro on Wife's new truck, but were to put the probe(how far from the turbo elbow?),..the gauge is for post turbo.
Installation sheet says nothing about it.

Why is the gauge post turbo? You should be able to put it wherever you want.
Some down pipes have a nipple to put them in. You could weld one on it.

I drilled and tapped the cast iron elbow and hole sawed about a 1" hole in the shield for to go over.

Within 18 inches is teh general rule to follow for post turbo applications. Much furthur than that and the guage response time gets REAL slow.
I thought I had a picture of mine, so I went and looked in my gallery and bingo found it. You can see the probe sticking out of the elbow. Good thing is no shavings to worry about.

As close to the turbo as you can would be best.

When I had the Banks Stinger exhaust setup before going to my 4" Heath exhaust on truck now, the folks at Banks had a post turbo bung/locknut welded into the DP about 18" after the turbo in the straight leg of the DP, response for reading was not as fast as in my preturbo now but fast enough to keep you from running too hot.
Im sure you've seen these, just drill a hole and clamp it on, done.
