So being as slow as we are in the winter, I took the time to finish some long overdue upgrades on my 96. Just thought i would share some pictures of what I did.

Now if anyone needs a good excuse to remove and clean you fuel filter housing...then just look at these pictures. I try to drain it the best i can when changing fuel filters, but that obviously isnt enough. I was really amazed with how much crap was in with the fuel heater on the underside. Oh and a big thanks to walking J designs for the high quality FTB fittings too.

While upgading the fuel lines, i bit the bullet and ordered an auto meter electronic fuel pressure guage from summit. I am still not 100% finished, as i would like to change to some larger fittings at the fuel pressure T, but it works for now. I was very happy with the guage as well as the guage pod too. A bit pricey, but i plan on taking the truck to the grave with me, so i feel it was worth it :D

With the filter manager raised, as you have it, does the bracket that holds the big wiring connectors still work? What type of fuel line did you use that is red? What happened to the egr hump on the upper intake? Looks good.

The bracket that holds the main engine harness is still there and in use. I drilled a hole centered between the two mounting bolts from which I added the threaded rod. Then i made a small flat bracket from the rear bolt of the upper manifold to one of the filter housing mounts. I can take some more pictures if you would like, kinda difficult to explain.

The red fuel line is a multi-use line I got from napa which is bio-diesel compatable as well. It has a very thick wall but is still very easy to bend around and work with. For anything fuel related, i try to replace with something bio-diesel compatable, so just in case i ever wanted to run it, id be halfway there already. I did give up on the o-rings for the filter housing though. They proved to be very dificult to find, and in the interest of time, i ended up just using ones from the dealer.

And as for the upper intake....some of the vin F engines had the completely flat style like mine, while others had the egr casting hump with the ring on the inside. I dont know if it was a year specific thing, or just a change in the casting molds along the line.

The new o-rings the stealers sell are made of nitril which will hold up to bio diesel. The only question is did they sell you some that have been in stock for 5 years.

The setup looks good. I would like to raise my filter manager raised. Any extra photos would be nice. Is the FTB fittings worth it for just a daily driver or meant for people who tow?

when you see how small the stock out let is it dose kinda make you wonder. it is deffinetly a restriction and the easyer it is to get the fuel there the better performance you should be able to get. i orderd my FTB kit the other day

ill get some more pictures of the mount soon. I used the bracket for the engine harness, but one could very easily just make a baseplate for the threaded rod by using the same mounting holes. I wanted to retain the factory piece as it keeps all the wire harness' and plugs neat and organized.

As for the FTB fittings...id say it is deff worth it. especially if you are going to re-route your fuel lines and filter anyways. Take a look at this picture, the small fitting on the left was the size of the origonal line feeding the IP.

oh i think i have a 1/4npt around some where. the question is where

haha i have been dealing with that problem alot lately. I had to move all of my tools and supplies from a 3 bay barn/shop down to a tiny 1 1/2 bay barn. I can hardly fit my 1500 into the barn, let alone find room for all of my tools. So with random boxes and crates everywhere, finding things has become a project in itself!

Heres a few more pics of the mount for those who wanted to see....

and buddy, im not 100% sure, but I really thought i used a 1/4 NPT tap. Maybe they have changed fitting sizes?? Ill check for sure tomorow
