Waterwetter vs. 50/50 glycol ??

For what it's worth i run a 50/50 mix with water wetter in both my diesels. My pickup has 2 bottles of water wetter in it and my blazer has one. Both have roughly a 50/50 mix of green anti-freeze and water.

hehe! Glenn Beck Rocks! ):h

What would running straight h2o do during the summer? Also what is the diff between green and red A-Freeze?

Rust insulates metal and slows down heat transfer. Plain water will rust everything. To keep her cool clean the radiator esp between the oil cooler and AC condenser by removing the oil cooler. Look inside the radiator for signs of corrosion plugging the tubes.

Then look at a HO water pump and change or modify the fan clutch. 9 blade fan minimum.

See my sig. New condenser and radiator, HO water pump, 180 T-stat and low temp clutch with 9 blade fan. I do run water wetter. It will not go over 215 no matter what I tow with it up the 7% grade.

I cleaned my rad and flushed, switched to 50/50 green. Added water wetter, not a lick of difference. I think it's snake oil.

I cleaned it inside and out. it runs perfectly cool now. I need to put something in there and figured I could get someones experiences with water wetter vs.glycol. I know it will run warm in j/j and august. It stays in the 90s/100s for three months straight. I guess the antifreeze will be fine.

My truck has fresh red Antifreeze in it mixed for Minnesota weather, not sure it that effects the colling it has in hot Oklahoma summers. I have never heard of water wetter, what is it?

My fan didn't kick in when I hit over 210 the other day (not by much). I wasn't towing either. I will be cleaning out the Rad, coolers, and condensers 1st chance I get. I doubt it ever had a problem in Mn! lol

I have no experience with Water Wetter. Antifreeze does more than the name implies. It lubricates, is anti corrosive and IIRC it helps prevent boiling.

To clarify what I wrote earlier, I cleaned and flushed, ran 50/50 green and it gets hot on the long pulls. After hearing a bunch of people swear by it, tried water wetter and NO difference in temps. None. I even had a pi55ing contest with a guy who insisted it would lower the temp in one of our "company" cars that had cooling system problems, and allow us to keep the car in service without fixing the fan and water pump issue.

Thats the issue I'll be having going up 8% grade for about 8/10 miles in june. I've been a mech. for 20 years and wouldn't have believed any moron who told me that either. I just haven't tried the stuff and didn't want to waste my money or be a guinea pig. Thanks for your honesty and helping a brother out.

I'm sorry, not trying to confuse anyone. The stuff I looked at wasn't the same brand, different brand, claiming the same if not better results. and listing different temp differences you can expect. with/out 50/50 ww/water and water alone. I just remember that name from racing at lebanon valley dragway
