The warpspeed has a redicuously low price amazing huh.
SYSTEM STYLE SIZE MATERIAL YEAR MODELS FITS PART NUMBER PRICE SHIPPING

COMPLETE SINGLE 4" ALUM 1994 - 2000 6.5L 1500/2500/3500 ALL CAB / BED LENGTHS WSPGD2

So if i were to purchase the exhaust would it be cat-back or turbo-back (the 2000 does not have a cat it has a "soot trap" read it in manual)

They call soot traps cats. Its up to you what you want or dont want(soot trap or not)

It could be thin metal compared to others. SSDS actually sells a decent exhaust setup for not a bad price.

You should ask them the guage of steel and shipping weight.

warpspeed says 4 year rust THROUGH warranty, Hope it lasts longer than that.

Could be, but it's not. Quite a number of guys have the Warpspeed sytems, ad they have done just fine

Bill at HeathDiesel (site sponsor) sells Superflow systems for the same price, or close enough not to matter.

Kyle at XDP DieselPower (site sponsor) sells Gibson Stainless exhaust at around the same price.

I think it's only right that, if the products and prices are comparable, we dance with the ones who support us here. Our vendors and site sponsors deserve our consideration.

Warpspeed lists their systems as using 16 ga steel on their Ebay site. -- some 40 lbs lighter than the 14 ga systems. I'd pay the extra $60 or so for the 14-ga.

On a gasser, I might agree with you... on a diesel? I've seen hundreds of diesel exhausts that lasted forever. They exhausts don't get nearly as much condensation as gassers, and there is the protection factor of the extra soot.

I live in Alberta... lots of salt & slush, and haven't seen much issue with my diesel. My gasser has gone through 2 systems in the same time, gonna need a new tailpipe soon again.

As for pricing - SSDS stainless at 499... Superflow (Bill @ Heath) at 495 ... Gibson Stainless (Kyle @XDP) at 505 ... you know how to look 'em up, too. All three also have cheaper systems, and some of our other site sponsors can also get exhausts, you just gotta ask 'em.

Warpspeed is very much cheaper, but I still support those who support me first, when I can.

Ok I just checked to make sure... and like I thought, JiFaire, you are comparing apples to oranges. You compared the SSDS Stainless system to Heaths Aluminized Steel system... and SSDS is only 4 bucks more, for STAINLESS. I paid 300 SHIPPED for my MKO Power exhaust (3 inch DP, 4 inch intermediate, 4 inch straight-thru muffler, and 4 inch tail pipe) So Heath's price is not reasonable in this case, not dancing around it. I love Heath, and he is a great guy, but his exhaust is so overpriced is unreal. And according to the Heath site, 495 is the cheapest you will get a system for a 6.5

I also COMPLETELY agree with supporting those who support you, and it sucks that Heath can't compete in the exhaust area. If anyone wants to hear about the GL-4 or his customer service, I'll talk their ear off.

Yep. All I compared was price. I put stainless where I found stainless... like XDS (who also has aluminized, but I didn't put that)

Mine isn't stainless, and I've got well over 100k on it, so I'm not sure why stainless is such a big concern, but ... my point isn't to push Heath, but to say let's look at site vendors first; if you just want the cheapest stuff, then by all means find the cheapest stuff - I often do, too, when I don't think site vendors can compete.

They understand that.

Yours sounds like a good price, too. I wonder what their shipping is like to Canada?

Warpspeed drop-ships from Red Deer, Alberta, so for all the Canucks who have bought their systems, there is no getting raped by UPS on the mystery cross-border fee, that's why I know that the guys with Warpspeed systems have been happy with theirs.

My big thing with SSDiesel's kits are that he sells a cat for them. For those of us who live in smog nazi states, or just don't like to break the law, that's a major plus.

The only real difference in 16 ga and 14 ga is how long it'd take to rust through. The 10-year-old factory system on my truck still looks great. I just had to replace the muffler and tailpipe on my 91 Suburban. It seems the 14-ga aluminum lasts a good long time.

Seeing as how I live within a couple of miles of the Great Salt Lake, they use a LOT of salt on our roads.

I'm not sure what shipping would be like to Canada... it was free shipping and it was via eBay... so again, not sure. It's funny, you're right about the mystery charge, I can see New Brunswick from my house, but the stuff I get from the U.S. is HUGLY cheaper than my buds across the border jabbering in francais. :)

They explained what I meant by the cost differences. And so the Warpspeed is slightly thinner, but like you say may not make a difference in a low humidity area, like severe cold or severe dry. As well as not near an ocean.

IIRC, Warpspeed has a special shipping to Canada from Canadian partner. A lot of Canadian has it because of this.

I owned it, it has been without any problem. Sounds great, from inside the Burb, it is actually less noisy than the stock crushed exhaust. From outside, it sounds nice, loud but no annoying.

They sell x-over. At one time, they package it together. I am sure you can ask them to sell all of them including x-over if you want to.

The store is at the bay with the same name. You can see it yourself.

Dallas, the owner is a nice guy. I have met him, actually, he did the install in my Burb himself. I was one of the first he installed after moving to a new shop facilities a couple of years back. I happened to be on vacation in that area.

I got the complete Warpspeed System on my truck. Right from the turbo back incl. a 5" stainless steel tip. It fitted execellent and the sound ist awesome. No kitty anymore and a free flow muffler with the louvers inside facing rear.

Mine is as about as ocean front as it gets, Gulf of Mexico 75 yds from front door, unless you count the day Katrina visited and it came through the front door , I slosh through brackish water whenever tide is neap tide high and roads to my house flood with the Gulf, high humidity as well 75% to 100% most of the year, rust has not been an issue there on my Heath unit installed almost 3 years now. FWIW Heath FSD surviving on front bumper those same conditions, so it must be sealed up pretty good also

Chances are any exhaust upgrade will outlast the truck. I wouldn't be concerned AT ALL about guage, or material of any of the above mentioned kits. My .02.

Matt. I agree. Some of these heavy gauged steal exhausts that these guys put on there truck ARE going to outlast the truck.
I just emailed warpspeed and haven't gotten anything back but its also midnight so go figure. Duh they are home sleeping Duh.
Another thing i am worried about is the salt in the winter here in Mahoning County (In NE OHIO) we have about 120 days of sunshine and thats about it. And about 10 ft of snow a winter. With the melting and the freezing well I just don't know.
Oh hell the one week the average temp was ohh lets say not in the double digits and the next week it was 50 WTF!.
But what ever if it rusts out well I don't know. I guess i will go to my moms and get a patch. LOL.
I think I am going to buy this instead of the banks (200 bucks more) (But I want that cool sticker they give you) (don't tell me that you don't want one) Well warpspeed it is then. For know.
