Warning on used 6.2/6.5 Blocks

Multi layer stainless.
There is some sort of bonding agent between the layers.
The gasket is also embossed to form a tight mechanical seal around the cylinder.

They recommend either Hylomar or copper coat spray to be real sure on keeping the green stuff where it belongs. Also the deck/head surface needs to be smooth, clean and dry when installing the gasket.

These gaskets have a good reputation I am hearing now.

We shall see.

They do have a good reputation. They won't be the weak link that is for sure. I used a set on my turbo Regal, and blew the bottom end out and the back of the motor went through the bell housing, but the head gaskets didn't let go.
I sprayed mine with the copper on both sides. Some people drill out the rivets holding the layers together and spray both sides of all pieces. I didn't think that was necessary.
Glad you found a way to save the block, and the work you put into it.
