hey people just bought a grand prixx with the 3.8 and im thinking of adding and exhust system but not sure its even gunna sound good with the v6 well if u know how it whould sound or whats the best way to go help me out thanks alot

Which model? SE GT or GTP w/ the Supercharged engine?

My suggestion is to upgrade the downpipe and remove the "U-bend" (hugely restrictive). After that the stock exhaust flows pretty well and IMO sounds good. Another great mod is an intake. Intense-Racing sells a Fender well intake that locates the filter in the bumper and really ups the performance, supercharged or not. After that it all depends on your budget and what you want.

My daily driver is an 03 Bonneville with the 3800 Supercharged, so I'm fairly familiar with them, lol. Great site to check out is www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com I'm 00Beast over there.

Search on youtube. Lots of exhaust videos on there, you can hear several different brands and make up your mind on what you like.

I would just go with an intake and wouldnt mess with an exhaust for it. Those 3.8s can sound pretty raspy with exhaust systems on them.

The only restriction in the exhaust is this:

A downpipe is the best way to eliminate the u-bend, along with an aftermarket catalytic converter (Make sure to get one that's CARB approved, being in CA). It will also give you a little more growl, especially with the N/A. If you really want to do mufflers I've heard a lot of 3800's with Magnaflows that I really like. No matter what you do, keep the resonator. It prevents drone and helps keep the "raspy" sound down.

Check out www dot intense-racing dot com for more parts. I highly recommend the Fenderwell Intake.

gee, when the front manifold cracked on my Impala I thought it sounded pretty good :D :D :D .

215,000 miles now. Getting ready to replace the water pump tomorrow on mine. drip....drip...drip....drip.
