Hello everyone!

i have an problem with my chevrolet truck it's an 1995 6.5td.

The car feels wery unstabel when i drive it, like i have to adjust the steearing wheel all the time to stay on the road both to left and right.
it does not matter if i drive on a bad or good road and it's does not matter wich speed i drive it's "unstabel" all the time.

i have changed everything that could cause this problem as far as i know, balljoints, tiers, rims, steearing arms, shocks, etc everything except the stearing coulums.

the tiers have have on is 275/55 R20 im not sure if it could be the tiers thats to wide.

anyone of you guys ever had this problem?
(im a new cheavy owner this might not even be a problem but i doubt it:)

Have you replaced or adjusted the steering box? Link. What about the "Rag Joint" on the steering shaft? They get loose. That joint is from the steering column to the box and is on the box end. You will have to move the PIA plastic cover up to see it - the cover that has the hook on a power steering line. No need to remove the line BTW. Example part, but will not fit the airbag 1995+ years.

Rock the shaft/steering wheel and check for clearance at the rag joint and in the box. You can do this from under the hood - no need for a helper.

Running the max tire pressure? Trick is to add 5 LBS to the front tires.

When was the last alignment? Miles/time?

I spent the last 20 minutes looking for Ferms thread on this W.W. I couldn't get the right search terms it seems.

You can look at the rag joint and see if the rivets move in the rubber when you turn the wheel to one side. There are some safety stops it will hit on the joint when the rubber is really bad. Rocking the steering wheel, or shaft by hand under the hood, while watching the top of the steering box will show you if it is loose (worn out) at all. Rag joint rubber looks like it was cut out of a tire.

hello guys! i got an delay on the delivery from my part dealer still waiting for the steering box, but i have an other question were can i find a steering shaft that fit my chevrolet k1500 1995 6.5td? i can't find a fit anywere i have checked ebay but no one fits. the delaer has to ship world wide also :D thanks guys!
