Buddy, you are correct in theory.

But the ones I were using were 265/70-17 which is almost identical OD to the 235/85-16s at about 31-32" diameter. So it is a fairly straight up comparison.

Tanner, that is just crazy MPG right there! Nice work.
 
Oh, ha, yeah I was thinking 265/75/17 for an inch taller. Should be the same then.

Shorter tires could help in town mileage for people that only go around town 55mph and less.

Thanks, it is just one tank but I average 18.57 on a different MPG tracker and thats over 20K. My lie o meter shows 18.7 usually so "its close enough for the girls I run with". Using the new tracker so I can upload MPG like that.
