I have a 94 ford ranger 4x4 4 speed w/overdrive. This happened all of a sudden, started my truck took a couple seconds longer than usual to start made it about 100 feet to a stop sign and was riding really rough then stalled out for no reason, started it back for about 5 seconds then stalled out again, couldn't get it started for about 10 minutes and when I did I moved about 10 feet and stalled out. Had to get it towed back to my house right up the street. It's very unpredictable I just had it idling for 5 minutes and it stalls out, then the next time was about 30 seconds. Sorry for the long post I'm new here, was just wondering if anyone knew what the problem may be thank you.

Just a little additional info: year and a half ago put a 3.0L v6 with around 10k miles on it in, transmission, clutch and starter have been replaced in the past 4-5 months. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need a fuel mix rich enough to spark ignite and a spark for the engine to run. Fuel mix going lean will cause the spark to find other places to go and burn through spark plug wires. A lean mix is extremely high resistance and why we had to up the ignition voltage for lean burn emissions. For example a bad MAF can cause the mix to swing rich and lean - the lean part will light up the plug wires like a xmas tree. So you are thinking bad wires, but, the cause is the fuel mix.

Check codes, check gravy work like plug wires and plug condition. Clean MAF if equipped, check filters. Check fuel pressure if you can.

Check grounds!

Check out the EGR system for a sticking open EGR valve. Or the valve popping wide open instead of opening a little due to internal EGR back pressure valve failure. In drive just off idle is where the valve can flop wide open rather than opening a little.

Look for vac leaks. Vac lines, brake booster, etc. Pinch off brake booster line to see if engine runs different. (Do not drive like that!) Use carb cleaner to check intake manifold for leaks.

Otherwise find a local Ford mechanic before you throw too many parts at it.

From your description I would start with putting a fuel pressure guage on it and see what you got. Should be 30-40 PSI.
