Truck pulls?

I'm no where near bold enough to put my tie rod ends to the test of latching onto something and getting on it in 4 low. I've got mine set to defuel hard in 4X4 as I know my front end won't hold up to what the DMAX has stock, let alone with my current tune. I really want to go to a dyno day though in this area, I always seem to hear about them after they've been here. I see I just missed the one in SARASOTA by a few weeks.

They make upgraded tie rod kits, that are holding up well on some of the d-maxs on our team running 700+ hp. the owner of the shop our team operates out of could hook you up if you like. GriffinDieselPerformance (ed griffin) 941-809-8543. And you get better pull in 4x4 high, cause it allows more wheel speed. Ill try to post the next dyno day we have with enough notice.

you're pretty inventive with fabrication and all that...

Tie Rod Sleeves

buy some...or make em'

you can do it!

Yep this is a 95 that had the 6.5 removed and a DURAMAX/ALLISON fitted in. I know I could upgrade it, I don't see much reason to. I can give her hell all I need to in 2WD. Doing boosted launches in 4LOW might be fun, but I don't think I can afford to.

Hee hee , I don't have those problems My GM front end holds up just fine....

Mine did to to the old 6.5 modded, but this DURAMAX puts out ALOT more than the old 6.5 could. She has a bit of torque steer to her as she will twist that big old SUBURBAN body right on up when you get on it. I gave her a little one time in 4 low and she did not want to go straight, them front tires started going towards each other real quick when the front end came flying up.

....I meant my CUCV....:D . Even a Dmax wouldn't rip that front end up. BTW I was at a Local 4x4 specialty shop and this guy build some realy realy wild stuff and he had a Dmx 2003 k2500 with a Dana 60 swap. NICE !!!!!!

It's nice having a front steering system that will last for years even when abused

NOt me... ANOTHER ripped boot.................................... I hate CV boots........... I've changed so many axles....

About the title, when talking about the 6.5 and someone starts a post saying 'Truck Pulls' usually the answer is, get an alignment :)

I'd like to pull my truck sometime next year. Before my tires have no tread and if I have extra money in case I break something... Not sure how my truck would do, but with me driving probably not well as I haven't done a pulling event before...

I'd love to try mine out, if we ever had one around here. Heard rumors of some action supposed to happen at N.E. Dragway. I went to one up in Maine years ago, bunch of tall trucks with more horsepower than driveline either broke or spun and dug in. Only truck to do a full pull was a pre-94 style Dodge Power Wagon with a plowframe and a stock 12 valve. Even looked like stock tires. This was a stone sled, not a mechanical sled that gets heavier.
I'd really like to see what my truck would do. It's got six Interco tires, a locker and 4:10s, and an A-Team Turbo

I'd say with that setup go for it. Get a locker up front and you may even be able to hang with the best of them. Its all about starting off. Hit it too hard and your gonna dig in and not go very far, to light and... well your gonna be missing out on some distance in the end lol. Definatly get a video up of it.

honestly, I'd do it but stupid 2wd combine with pizza cutters for tires stops me every time. I think it would make it interesting because you NOT one of the big three. Anybody can throw a chip or turn up the pump on the powerstrokes, DMAX's and Cummins, it takes real guts to get something out of the ordinary in there. If you do it, you have my support:thumbsup: All 2 wheels of it lol.
