Truck Makeover

I removed the tank sock, it wasn't too bad, just discolored.

The deck is on the saw horses awaiting primer and paint.

The deck will be some what on hold as I have a paying project on hand.

Sock is gone, I have a Racor to put inline.

Beams are for a skid for a horizontal separator for the oilfield, Total package will be in excess of 40 ton. I'm just building the skid.

Nice job Leo:thumbsup:

But thatta blue truck is way to nice to use for feed truck :agreed:
Gonna look like hell a yr down the road when them cows have been using it as scratching post after it broke down while feeding and you had to hoof it home to get some parts.

:hello:,..I'm eye balling these H beams too,..I got to build me an overhead crane.

Simon, I know what you mean. That old Dodge was the perfect feed truck, I could care less what happened to it appearance wise.

The trouble is I was looking for a replacement, wanted a 6.5TD and everything I found was either overpriced or of unknown reliability. So I bought the wife an 04 Yukon and decided to use the 1 ton.

Before long the bumper will be replaced with a "Cattle Guard":D, and the aluminum side steps will be replaced with an appropriate chunk of pipe.;)

A few years back I got stuck about 3 miles from home with 2 bales on the truck, when I got back the cows had their way with the old Dodge:mad2:. It will hurt at first.

This isn't truck related but is whats holding me up. I started it Monday and should finish it mid next week, then back to the truck.

Thanks Simon, this skid is an abortion. Normally there are 2 main runners with I beam cross members. This one has twice as many welds and basically I'm making I beams, the webs have a top plate that is fully welded on the top.
