Truck is Going Back together

their all good, i triple checked them, ill be looking in to more things as the week goes on. Our next hook is this saturday but I cannot make it. Then on the 6th there is the tech day and rumor of a test and tune. and the next pull that i know is official and i can make it to is on the 12th. Its the chllenge of power in union grove.

At least you have the backup motor.

10K is about normal for a motor build it seems, and that's a lot of $$$$..

Good luck Vinny.

I had 10,800 in my build,That was the crower rods, Socal pistons, bearing, seals, machine shop,Head studs.twin cp3's,30% injectors.and 59 hrs of are own time pulling it and rebuilding and reinstalling.

well this truck might be coming to an end as a puller.

Talking to my cousin last night at the pull and hes a single man now. I told him now he can build a pulling truck, he said he'd help me but not put any money into his. Then said if it was something worth while like a tractor hed go halves.

Now me him, and his buddy who works at our farm are toying with the idea of pooling our wallets to build a (cough) cummins .

Its getting to the point where i cant keep my truck reliable as a daily driver.

But the biggest thing is cost, as much as i wanted to support the dmax and not turn to the dark side, its just oo much money for me being a young student, to build a competitive dmax.

However we are looking at running the truck with a different organization and building it as a component chassis. In that case it will run a chevy body as thats what me and my cousin drive. Yes this way is a little expensive, but with free steel its not too bad. THe big costs are the clutch, reverser and quick change transfer case and of course the motor. But we would like to find a used rolling 4x4 component chassis.

I also have a good relationship with a guy who has built many 4x4 pulling chassis' and is eager to get into the diesel ones, so there is some good knowledge there.

Were thinking a 3.0 component truck is going to be a good way to go and well have it ready for 2010.

Maybe down the road well pull the cummins out and swap in a dmax.

This is just brainstorming right now, until a motor or cummins truck is purchased nothing is set in stone.
