Tread Wright

Id like to give them a shot too, even if they last 1/2 as long as a new tire you could just replace them twice as often and always have deep tread.

I live in the SW corner of the state next to lake michigan and right above indiana. Ive been to grand rapids once last year to take my contractors exam. It looked like a nice city, a lot of new building going on.

Thanks for the links, Max. I actually read all of them before posting the question here and decided to do a search and came up with this thread. I figured I would give Adrian an opportunity to chime in. They do sound like they are a worth a shot. My only concern is the limited tread designs they offer. I was looking for more of an AT but the sizes I want are only available in a fairly agressive MT from Tread Wright. None the less, they are still about $200 cheaper than anything else and that includes shipping. Discount Tire Direct has free shipping on the tires I want and I would still save $185 using Tread Wright.

Yeah, Dick Devos is the one to thank for most of those nice buildings.

I actually live about 10 minutes south of GR in the country....nobody would probably know where Moline or Caledonia are though so i just put GR. :smile5:

Is there a website where someone has had some for a few years? Everything I read they only tested them new.

I dont live by any big city, only 600 people in my town. When I was in welding school 30 miles away some people never heard of my town.

I liked the over pass bridges there in GR, they look nice. Everything here looks like crap.

I haven't seen anything.

When I was up ther kalin construcion was putting down a new stretch of highway. They are from down here by me in sodus so they must work all over the place.

the roads around me are beat to hell, they try to patch them but the whole road is pretty much destroyed.

Good ol' Michigan.

Kalin actually did a stretch of road right by us...I always wondered where they were from.

They are way down here by me right above the indiana border, thats a long drive to work every day.

They own a gravel pit I used to drive by when I went to welding school. One of the butt head drivers pulled out infront of me like a bat out of hell. He came flying out of the gravel pit with huge stones flying everywhere dumping out of the trailer. A stone a little smaller then a baseball hit the road and I seen the wheel on the semi truck grab it and it came rocketing at me. I was driving twords him and I layed down on the passenger seat trying to get over to the right as far as I could and it hit the windshield. I sat up and glass was falling to the floor. I called the police but they didnt give a S%#@.:rolleyes5:

If I didnt lay down or swerve over it would have hiy me right in teh face and probably killed me.

Went ahead and ordered Kumho's from Discount Tire Direct yesterday. Total bill with shipping to my door for 6 tires was $908 and change. Now to find a reputable shop to install and align.

I ordered kumhos for my jimmy, they were $412 put on and I also had a tire plugged for my truck. Ive had them for 2 years and they hold up really well so far. I would have rather got some bridgestone but couldnt see spending that much. For some reason 235s are worth their weight in gold.

I read a lot of good reviews on Kumhos and that is why I decided to go with them. For size, I went with 285/75-16 for the rears and 305/70-16 on the front.

Yeah I was hot, the cop said the only thing I can do if fill out a complaint form. I said are they going to buy me a new windshield? He goes uhh no.

I should have drove straight and had it come through the windshield and ran off the road and wrecked then got me a big shot lawyer. There was more then one huge rock flying, it sounded liek a machine gun hitting my jimmy. the first rock I swerved from hig the window of teh rear driver side door. I wouldnt think a baseball size rock would bounce off the glass but it did. There was a lot of dents in ir from that bastard.
