I just wanted to let everyone know that I have purchased a set of remanufactured tires for the Sierra.

They will be 265/70/R17-E (Revo pattern) and run on H2 wheels (the cheap ugly ones).

New tires are just too darn expensive for my blood these days... When the tires arrive I will give a report on the quality. Hopefully this could save others some $ in the future as well.

In the spring the BFG A/T KO mold will arrive for this tire size. I like the BFG A/Ts better than the Revo tread, but what can you do.

Take Care,

Back in 1982 my grandpa had a 1979 chevy with a lift kit. He needed new tires and big tires arnt cheap. He found a awesome set of retreads for $80. I just replaced those he had on there and they still look OK. They seem to have lasted alot longer then any new tires and the truck was never parked inside.

One you get into 235 r15 and up the price isnt cheap. I seen alot of decent prices on car tires.

I have a set of the treadwrght tires on my 95 k2500ld. they are 245-16 ats. They are michilin casings. Very good looking tires. I had them balanced at a shop and they couldn't tell they were retreads. I don't have very many miles on them yet. The price delivered to my door was $327 for a set of 4. These are load range E tires. They claim to have a lower failure rate than new tires because they inspect the casings better and 3 times. Time will tell, but i like them. Delivery was 3 days from the day I ordered. For you people in the snow and ice they offer a tire with grit molded into the rubber that works almost as good as studs. They used to call them green diamond but they changed the name. The co.is located in edgerton south dakota. Just google treadwright to check out.

Report back when you get them, I'm interested in some tires for my work vehicles. Also, if you can get some pics, that would be great. Thanks

Yup, they are now called "Ultra" trim. Essential it adds $10 per tire and this is with WALNUT SHELLS as a traction enhancer for snow and ice. Weird but I guess it works.

The rubber that is used is rated for 40-60K. Apparently more actual rubber is used than regular production tires... At least that is what they claim.

The coopers here were over$180 per tire at local big box store for 245-16 load e. I got all four for the price of 2 coopers. bf goodrich were over$200 per tire.

The website is confusing me a tad. I calculate shipping and it says $22ish, but it wont come up on the total price list. Would that be $22 per tire or total??

Les Schwab wanted over $220 per tire for 265/75/16 E. Unfortunately I was desperate for summer tires because I was sitting on 2 blowouts (factory originals....don't even get me started on that). I had them put on 235/85's knowing I was loosing some load capacity, but it was a couple hundred dollars less and it was really bad timing for me financially.

I haven't priced anyone else since, but I'm not impressed with the Schwab AT's I have now. They are wearing out FAST. I'll probably need new summer tires in a year (mine only have about 13,000 on them). My winter tires are Cooper STT's that I am extremely impressed with (4 years old now and a tad over half worn). I was planning on going with Cooper for summer tires, but not if these guys can beat the price.

On the treadwright web site how many tires did you have for quantity? They ship fedex so that price is probobly per tire.

Yeah that can't be right for shipping..probably $22 per tire.

They have the BFG's for 16" wheels...I will probably be buying a set of those or the green diamond ones for winter next year...funds permitting. that is really good pricing though. $90 each for a 285 BFG AT. Hopefully they come out with a 265x16 bfg at...would be better for winter.

Adrian, it's been a couple of months. How are the Tread Wright's doing. I'm getting ready to get some tires and would really value your feed back.

Thanks,
