Transmission cooler lines install

Looking at Path of the transmission cooler lines after installing the engine and it looks difficult to near impossible to thread the hard lines through without removing the passenger side exhaust manifold. Can someone confirm that is the case or if not, suggest an alternative approach?
 
I got them in starting from the rear threading and flexing them forward and being careful to not drag the upper one across the radiator. Takes a little patience and all but, I got it in...and out and back in with the older OEM unit again after we learned the $%^&* line was for a 97+ year 4l80E. Is this for the 94?
