I need to replace the transfer case on my suburban. It is stuck in neutral. My son took it to Aamco and they said it was shot. It has 300k on it so it's probably due. What Transfer case do I get. I have a push button system on the burb.

Where are you located?
I believe I have a transfer case out of a 96 k1500 gasser Suburban on marketplace, I'd like to see leave the property.
I don't know how shipping would be.
I'm south of Chitcago about 90 miles.

Rebuilding them is not hard at all. But swap if his works is easier.

I always say remove it, clean it with a pressure washer and get it on a bench.
DO NOT scrape the little round tag on the back- it has all the important numbers.
With those numbers you can look up or call parts suppliers for whatever is needed.

Rip it apart and damaged parts are easily identifiable.

My son was thinking about rebuilding it if he couldn't find a replacement.
