Picked up our new "camper" yesterday. We shouldn't out grow tis one until both kids are out of the house. Enough bunk beds in back for 6 kids and their own 1/2 bath.

Pulled it 90 miles home and I was pleasantly suprised how well the truck handled the weight. I haven't scaled it yet but I'm sure it's several thousand pounds more then my other one. Hope to install my air bags today or tomorrow.

Nice floorplan. With the rear door the kids can sneak in and out all night long going to the cooler for a "night cap" and you'll never know!

That was a concern but the back door can be locked by key from the outside. On the other hand that wouldn't be good is case of a fire emergency. I'm just going to stick a piece of tape on the outside and tell them it better still be there in the morning.

Nice. That sumbitch is huge...Thats gotta weigh around, what, 13-15k?

BTW, where's our DTR jug?):h

Nice rig, Farmdog!

We were looking at stuff like that and finally decided my poor old 6.5TD would grunt 'way too much in the Rockies... didn't figure we could afford a trailer AND a truck at the same time.

You guys are gonna just LOVE all that room... very cool!

Jim

I haven't run it over a scale yet,but that is probably in the range. I was pleasantly suprised at how well it pulls.

I keep meaning to get a DTR sticker for that oil can and get it traveling. Guess I've been lazy.

We are on the maiden outing as I type and have a camper full of kids at all times. Don't know who they are but, but they seem to be having fun.

Same Rig and Ride...almost

Howdy there farmdog....
Nice set up... We are looking at the the Sierra bunkhouse models we really like the floor plans. Did you trailer anything before this? We are currently pulling a 29 ft,,tt with a dry wieght 9000 something and a 11200 loaded GVW.
I'm wondering how your truck is doing with the weight. Seeing that it appears you are also a CCSB as mine is ??we are looking hard at the 37QBQBH with the double rear bunk slides, The weight is just about 500 more than your model and two ft longer. How is your truck handling the 5er and is there any thoughts you could throw out there for me? I already have air bags in the rear thx

I like that layout. We have been looking for a dual bunk set up, too.

Way cool...I love that lifestyle...

Our kids have grown so no more bunkhouse needs for us, but I have to admit taking the kids was a boatload of fun.
Enjoy it while you can - next thing you know you'll be paying for college.

I would like to know how it pulls too! Mine is only 30' and probably 3000 lbs. lighter. Pulls this great but would like to upgrade and that is a very nice rig Farmdog!

I have no complaints. I don't think I would have had to have the air bags but they're nice. I tow with my Edge and level 2 and I'm usually content running 70mph on the interstate. I didn't go on any long trips before I had to put it away for winter and things are pretty flat around here but the truck handled it nicely.

That is a very nice looking rig. Now you have me thinking! Although I tow all over the mountains.

I finally took this thing across a scale this morning. With no water or inside type supplies it weighed like this:

Combined weight:19,820lbs
Camper alone:12,040lbs
Truck alone:7780lbs
Pin weight:2080lbs

I was a little supprised at the pin weight. It doesn't feel the heavy. It figures to about 17% so I guess that's about right for balance.

Tomorrow I wax it.

Thats a pretty hefty rig. I am guessing mine goers 10,000 loaded right now. No liquids. Still a great looking set up. I have air bags on my truck now and they really make my set up drive and handle awesome.

I just wonder how the big grades here in the west would be pulling more weight.
