Towing question

Ok I'm getting ready to transfer, and towing my 5th wheel RV 1000 miles to store it while I'm in Iraq. I'm kind of leary about getting an inbed tank for extra fuel. I got a 32' 14k gvw 5er. I just am not sure if putting a fuel tank in my already heavy truck will cause issues. 04 CC/LWB 4x4 LB7. So I'm asking for opinion on what you guys think? I'm just trying to think of a way to get more than 200 miles between fill ups.

Any idea what the pin weight is on your 5er? What else do you have in the truck bed? How big of tank are you considering? You know Titan makes a 62 gallon replacement for your stock fuel tank. Here.

Had a buddy tell me that they had some cheap manual pump in bed tanks at a hardware store. I'm leaving next friday, and don't have the money for a replacement tanks right now. Only couple hundred bucks to spare for the moment. Nothing in the bed, and pin weight well wont know that until I go weigh it next week

200 miles per tank? you're getting less than 10 MPG? you should only have to fill up 3 maybe 4 depending on road conditions and wind.

Well I'm just guessing at 200 miles a tanks, and it's windy down here where I'm at, and once I get to the California Oregon boarder the weather might turn crappy. That reminds me I need to get my tire chains for the truck and trailer.

i wouldn't worry about the added weight of a little extra fuel in your tank (800lbs or so). the toolbox in the bed of my truck is jammed full of tools, chains, jacks, and i always have my regular toolbox in the bed of my truck as well as blocking, etc. i pull the load in my sig all the time and it weighs more than your camper does. the truck performs fine, but your camper will be more of a sail most likely.
