Too much blowby or bad ATT turbo boot?

Here is the solution, a couple 4-ply hump hoses and 2.5" piece of pipe inbetween, or even just a part of the section that you cut off the intake. And 4 good t-bolt clamps. The cheapest I could find all these parts was at siliconeintakes.com

Buddy, any specs on the 2.5" pipe? Aluminum or just galvanized steel? Where did you source that?

I'm tired of the oily mess.

BTW, Colby loves his programmer. Next he's due for the 4" Diamond Eye, then the ATT. Truck is running like a champ.

BTW on that tow the truck ('99) performed quite well. Base elevation is about 1500' and peak elevation is about 7100'. During the worst stretch the temp was hitting a tick over 210 at about 35 mph. I was laying off based on the EGTs. It quickly dropped to 187 on level sections. The '99 has the stock steel 9 blade fan and I was wondering whether the Dmax composite fan might cut some temp off the high end?

Thanks Buddy for that pic. I think I need to do that or get the hose replaced as there are no other leaks. I have to have a boost leak as bad as the smoke is and the oil spray tattletale.

Thanks for the pic knowing what is "normal" from the CDR system.

As far as towing the EGT's went through the roof 1400 and the temp went a notch over 210 even after backing off the EGT's. I have the Dmax fan and Kennedy low temp clutch. Yes the fan was locked up... This is as hot as I ever towed with 115 degrees out and a record setting 118 after I was done. However I have some issues that need to be looked into.

I cleaned my boot off this morning and found a small hole in it. That is part of my oily mess on the firewall, it also is leaking on the turbo side.

I did use 4 of these http://cgi.ebay.ca/2-2-50-SS-T-Bolt-Clamps-Tbolt-Band-Silicone-2-5-/190547981334?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c5d8b7416 Two of these http://cgi.ebay.ca/Silicon-Hose-Double-Hump-Coupler-2-5-63mm-RED-/380348985797?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item588e90f1c5 It had a best offer price and I said 10 GBP each. worked out to 30.89 total plus the cost of 4 t-bolts and for a tube to join them I went to midas and asked for a piece of stainless steel tube. That part was free. the ATT 009.jpgthe ATT 002.jpgthe ATT 001.jpg

Hey Ed, they say 3-ply, in the pictures it certainly looks a little thicker than the one that came with the ATT? Is that 4 layers of silicone with 3 support layers of threading or whatever between them? Its probably more flexible not being "4-ply"

I dont know if the one that comes with the ATT is considered 1 or 2 ply.

Mine is much thicker than the ATT hose. I'd guess about a 1/4 inch or so. web site says 4.5mm thick walls. I know they say 3 ply but that means nothing to me. The seller is in Britain. He would know much better than me.

It turns out to be my fault, when I installed the boot it made a slight contact with the corner edge of a hose clamp I used on my cross over bypass delete. I ran a bead of silicon on the inside of the boot and smoothed it out and let it cure. Then I put it back on and it seems to seal on the turbo now.

Any 2.5" OD pipe will work, aluminum or steel. intake, exhaust, or any type of pipe.

The double humps that Ed is using looks pretty good.
