What's the purpose of the egr delete do you actually gain anything from it besides eliminating parts?

you won't gain any performance but it will clean up your intake. deposits on the valves have been known to come loosed and cause issues
Well I have a 95 6.5 with a S intake I think unless it was changed. the egr is directly on the top what do I do to delete it I read it's different from 95 and the 96. I don't want to throw a check engine light. The truck has been running great especially after the manual wastegate and I finally finished a bottle of PS off in it. What's the best way to delete the egr without having to flash the ECM or change anything. I was thinking just a metal plate under it then bolt it back on with some black Rtv.

Block off plate stops it from working but that lump is still a restriction. Some say even plugged in, it will still set the code. Only way is to delete it and wait and see.

What do you mean still a restriction by having the vacuum still hooked up? I guess I'll have to just try it and see if the light comes on I'll just connect it back up.

I found my answer after digging through google. I can just block it off on an OBDI truck without flashing it. So I guess tomorrow I will block it off then when it starts to warm up when I do my glow plugs and injectors I will die grind my intake out and clean her up or I'll get a used F intake. Most likely will just end up cutting all the stuff out doing the cheap way lol.

The actual intakes are a bit more money. If your not in a rush, mine will be for sale in a few months, probably ask $75 plus shipping.

Not in any rush just keeping my eyes open. I need to get other things done first.

Swapping to the non-EGR intakes is something I always recommend. The EGR intakes are a huge restriction even when you block them with a freeze plug

I have 2 stock PROM chips if you want a stock tune that gets rid of EGR codes.
