time to replace injectors?

My k2500 has 209000 miles on it with the original injectors I was noticing some hesitation when I reved the engine on the highway so I checked the codes by the way it is a 1995 obd1 and it gave these... When I start it up it usually blows out white smoke and then quits after a few puffs. should I not assume it's the injectors or could it be the injection pump? After it warms up it has no smoke at idle but under heavy acc black smoke. I checked the turbo inlet for any obstructions and found alot of oil caked on the inside coming from the CDR tube. I can see oil coming out of the intake manifold and also out of the EGR on top.

sorry for the long post I am not a mechanic but I love diesels and have a few tools I have heard of bad things happening when the injectors go bad.
 
general rules of thumb I am going to follow for the rest of the time I own this truck:

GROT #1: If you think the injectors need to be changed, then they do, replace your glow plugs at the same time.

GROT #2: If you think the head gaskets are blown, then they are

GROT#3: if you have the intake manifold off then change the fuel hoses......

GROT#4: don't take the oil pan off unless you want to see the crack in the middle main saddle.

GROT#5: if you buy a used running engine the bottom is not cracked until it blows the crank shaft apart.

GROT#5a: all used blocks with out the diamonds cast into it are going to be cracked, even if the Ebay add states inspected and crack free. Call Clearwater and get a new block.

GROT#6: Never never never never never use an autozone thermostat in this engine, infact only use AC Delco 190ish thermostats with this engine.

GROT#7: if the engine has been over heated then your heads are cracked..... get new castings.

New injectors didn't eliminate the first puff of white smoke in the morning I typically get but I don't cover the cars behind me in black smoke every time I touch the throttle either, let alone punch it. In fact, its hard to get any black smoke out of it now which was usefull for the tailgaters....

Anubis' GROT #1 is as good a place to start as any, especially after 200+K miles. If I may, add to GROT#1. a part "c" - 'if you think the airfilter is dirty, it is, clean or replace it.'

Just for a level start point, you may want to look at performing a lot of PM items in short order like rotors, pads, drums, shoes, oil w/filter and air filter. Peace of mind stuff. Then there's fluid flush/exchange of the coolant, tranny, brakes etc. That's what I did once I got it home. Later I went after the PMD relocation, LP and OPS, more peace of mind.
 
Also remember the Power Steering fluids and all the differential fluid for peace of mind.

OP was afraid to drill holes for PMD? I guess, it is better to keep buying PMD? LOL. Good thing it is cheaper than it has ever been.

Seriously, the 1st 2 codes are EGR codes, so check your vacuum lines.
The others are IP codes. You can try putting 2 stroke first but then it will contaminate the OS, as you said. LOL!!!
I have been putting 2 stroke for 2 years and no IP or injector issues so far. Not that much 0.5 oz per gallon.

May be the master can chime in.

For rebuilt injectors, go order some from Badger Diesel. He rebuilds them with Bosch nozzles for $225 a set and sells the installation with clampless lines for $15. No Chinese parts.

If your not one for rebuilt then GENUINE bosch's injectors are what you want. Not the el cheapo chinese knock offs that people sell on ebay claiming to be bosch units.

Yeah after I sent in two sets of injectors to Badger Diesel for one reman set, RockAuto started carrying the Bosch injectors again. With the discount code they're $316 plus shipping for a set.

RockAuto confuses me as they have several different brands of injectors for prices up to $58. These are brands I've never heard of.

I sent Badger an original set of Bosch injectors, plus some no name nearly new injectors from Pensacola that apparently leaked around the nozzles when installed. I asked that I get the reman Bosch in return. They should come this week.

Phone for Badger Diesel: 262-515-1569. Not sure if he has a website. If DTR starts giving him the love, maybe he'll roll one out and become a vendor here?

i invited him the other day when i talked to him he said that he is staying very busy right now with the ebay sales. i sent him a invite from here and another email with some info from the mods hope he decideds to join we could deffinetly use a good IP and inj vendor around here. im sending my IP and bosch Inj to him tommorow for rebuilding. i have 2 other sets of inj. i may sell one set to him as cores
