Time for another damned fool crusade

Ace
You put anything behind an LS6 and its likely to become dust.

I had 76 Ford F250 4x4 that I bought new. It came with the POS 360

I drove the truck for approx 20K miles and then stuffed a 427 Cammer (Yess thats right a CAMMER) under the hood. 427 SOHC

It was a crate engine that I scrounged up from a fellow who's son had bought it and then left this world in a hurry one eavening.

Changed the pistons from 13.5:1 to a more streetable 10:1 and had Isky make a set of civilized cams for it.

Had the C6 and NP 203 TC with 38 inch rubber

That sucker would roll all 4 of them 38's on asphalt.
Never broke anything in the 70K miles I put on it.

Advertised it for sale in the late 80's as having 427 Cammer Power.

The fellow who bought it thought I was full of it.
He came, looked under the hood and replied, "That's a Cammer" well No $hit Sherlock
Thats what I advertised it as.

The 203 was a great box. The conversions caused more issues than they solved.
Lube problems and such to the added pieces.

Everyone thought they were gonna save some gas or something.

I loved the way the full time drive made the truck handle.

Power on all 4 all the time was a real treat.

Same sort of setup as a power divider on a class 8 truck with twin screws.

Far too many folks had it in their heads that the front kicked in and out?????????//

Nope not so says the little red hen

Simple interaxle differential that biased the power between the front and back and allowed for speed variations between the two.
No different than what the differential in a standard axle does.

Them were the good old days

Maybe I will see if I can scrounge up a 203 and stuff into my Burb Project.

Now that would be way cool me thinks. Full time 4x4 91 Burb with a diesel.

Not sure but I think the 203 that fit behind a TH350 would likley be a fairly easy swap behind the 700R

They use the same output shaft size and spline.

Ah well, dream on Missy
