Thoughts on fixing a fuel leak ...

The fuel heater can be beneficial for the engine. The fuel will warm up some from going into the IP before getting injected and then the tank warms up from returned fuel, but the heater can bring it up to an optimal injection temperature for better atomization but maintaining density, which would be around 120F.

So although its not necessary, it can increase efficiency and perhaps keep injectors lasting longer.
