Thinking about a rebiuild

I think im leaning towards the 6.5 rebuild. the old truck make me proud yesterday. their is a hill at work and a loaded car hauler couldn't make it up so i got the truck and hooked-up, and with the truck driver laughing and sevral co-workers on looking. i put in in 4 by go and put her down in first and pulled that semi up the hill to everyones amazement. i got a good list of stuff i want. scat crank, head studs, main girdle, cooling upgrade, new balancer and im even looking into a cam. now i know how people here dislike ssdiesel, but i have been drilling them with lots of questions. and recive lots of info on the cam. no dyno sheets, but i'm told lots of happy buyers. they said with a stock engine cam won't do much or be worth it but with upgraded it can be a good addition. my buddy builds lots of turbo gas engines. its a lil different but we are gonna sit down and brainstorm to come up with a game plan. anyone know if desktop dyno will work on a diesel?

Well changed my mind. there is now a 94 12valve p-pump cummins sitting in my drive way. i love the ol 65 but in the quest for more power it must go. so the cummins swap begins!

You pulled a semi up a hill!! And it aint enough power

Thats a great story whatever happens. Your 6.5 isnt actually dead, swapping on your own terms is probably good.

Hopefully the Cummins is solid and puts out the power youre looking for.

thanks i did luck out with the cummins truck i got its a fresh rebuild less than 100k its all still new inside. it was weird with the the 6.5 i was always left wanting more. i did'nt wanna build it then not like it. it was quick off the line but still slow and it didn'tlike to tow. i guess its me but i wanted to build a truck, its crazy and diffrent just like me. its fits me so thats why im doing it. everyone thought i was crazy for building a 6.5, now the think im crazy for putting a cummins in a chevy. they say it can't be done i know it can and i cant wait to prove everyone wrong again
