Things that decrease your fuel economy

you all are gonna hate me for this, but auto trannies & 4wd!

4wd, no arguement, but the hotly argued manual/auto arguement is in the hands of the driver. one can get better out of one rather than the other, and vice versa.

Your right! A tranny not properly maintained can decrease fuel economy as well. I will add that to the list.

For "S" trucks a messed up EGR system will eat MPG's like crazy. Extra fuel tanks too... i lost 1.5 MPGs with an 80 gal tank full in the bed.

This is for those who have added a manual waste gate controller, e.g. turbo master from heath. Your vacuum pump is still connected but has no use. If it starts to wear out you won't know. My question is will it or can it cause fuel economy to decrease?

Don't forgit drivin around with that Moo Cow ya picked up in the bar off the floor last night at 4 am....Nah I never done that...

Any parasitic load is just that parasitic, even if just a minor load, remove it, sell to somebody that needs one for the price of the shorter belt you'll need, it will also be more reliable with no vac pump, since with TM it's acting like and idler now, 1 less thing to mechanically fail on ya.

Ya sure, stopping for food kills the O'l mileage.
Take a cooler full of food on those long drives, and a cup heater for the coffee. A co-driver helps, as long as their lard butt doesn't weigh the rig down too much. Crank up the heat, and you'll just evaporate the pee, and won't have to stop.

Oh yeah, it's what KILLS mileage, not what helps it... Fergit it.
