thanx Leroy, PMDCABLE, for the fuel pressure fitting

just went back and reread, your fuel pressure guage is pre filter so it doesn't totally eliminate fuel supply. check filter, screen under filter, and if IIRC there's one more screen in the IP inlet

Hes right, could be optic sensor filter. I removed mine, it was fish bitting and all that got codes for optic sensor. mechanic said bad ip
i removed the in line filter harness and all problems went away and i no longer have check engine light try remving yours

thanx both of you. i suspected the pre-IP screen because i had that prob with the 93. wasn't aware it would throw codes though. that will be looked at Sun. Jorge6.5, what is the 'in line filter harness'?
fuel filter is new so don't feel like that would factor.
AK, what do you mean 'screen under filter'? where is it? there is one inside the FFM, goes on the center around the heat element. i will check that because i forgot about it. i have a set of gaskets to get the intake off/on, kind of ironic that i recently sold a few sets.
seems if i keep a part for years, it only gets in the way, but as soon as i get rid of it, it's needed.

The filter harness is between the IP and the harness. About 6" long.

The screen in the FFM and there is one on the hose barb going into the IP inlet. It's delicate so handle with care.

Join the club.

i have the day Sun set aside to get a look at these items and get er back on the road. thanx for the help.

Yep try the optic sensor inline harness filter. Best way to do it is to remove the upper plenum. It connects right to the optic sensor on the IP, has those weather pack plugs and a black rectangle piece of plastic. After its off just plug the harness directly into the optic sensor. Clear any codes first so there are no codes on computers memory, good luck.
