That is the best way, as brave as I am about welding, cutting and fabing things together, a driveshaft is something I leave to the pros.Found a shop that will cut it and balance it for about $100 so I think I will go that route.
Have a little problem with the RPM input for the USShift. I am using an early 90's style sensor that goes in the oil pump drive. In the settings I set custom, because all the other options had to do with ignition type sensors. But I got 0 rpm indication on the unit.
I wonder though if it could be the booster, I think that the rod from the pedal to the booster locks into the booster.Got the drive shaft in.....about $170 with new u-joints.
Had trouble getting the brakes to bleed. The pedal always went to the floor, never really pumped any fluid out that I could tell, so I may have a bad master cylinder. Also after pushing the pedal down with the bleed port open, then closing the bleed port, I would have to pull the pedal back up with a good bit of resistance. Sound like a bad master cylinder?? Or was I just doing a bad job of trying to bleed them by myself?
So close to getting this thing on the road!
If it was a local sale, they might still have Your core setting in the back room.found the problem........... apparently there is a piston/rod that goes in between the hydroboost and the master cylinder. The new hydroboost apparently did not come with it, and I did not remove it from the old one when I sent it in for a core...................... talk about frustrating.
My truck has a 3 position shift controller. IIRC it is a B&M. It was set on position 3 when I got the truck, that was just too harsh so I set it to the no.1 position, I now like the way it shifts. center position 0 is factory shift. IIRC, been a while since I dug it out from its entanglement. It was Rockauto............mailed the core in a month ago or so............
So I pulled the rod out of my truck and got it working. That was the last thing I needed to do before I drove it so I just got in from the first test drive!!! Runs pretty well. Have a lot to figure out about the USShift controller... seems to shift kinda hard so need to do some tweeking.

Why, does he want to BBQ while driving? LOL!The old '84 K-10 is averaging 13.8 around town with my 18yr old at the wheel.. Now it needs a grill..;. we won't talk about that....

If you only knew... LOL we have a rack on it like a ladder rack when he gets to school on pretty days he hangs a hammock up on it ( I tell him, it's making him red" ) so your comment is kind of fitting! lol.
Actually he put the back bump of a newer model Chev Malibu in the back seat and it only broke the already cracked grill..
