t-stat variants

Still have a bit of weaping at the thermostat. I think I over-torqued it. I'll get a new gasket, some sealant, pick up a new gasket scraper and surface it if necessary with some fine sandpaper and take another whack at it. I'm not surprised it wants to leak. My last attempt was a rush job.

I used the Right Stuff RTV on my thermostat housing and it's been working great. I pretty much use it on everything and love it. I get it at Autozone.

306 Stewart/Robert Shaw Thermostats - 306

It's what I use in the 6.2 & 6.5 diesels that take a single thermostat as opposed to a double. I believe from 1989 to 1995.

I have had very good performance and longevity with these. I have only had good performance and longevity with these and AC Delco thermostats. I would not use aftermarket thermostats in general. I have experienced very poor temperature control and longevity with them the few times I tried them.

Although I quit buying from the zone-Anti 2nd amendment- I use same suff. Never a problem, I don't even use a gasket on tstat.
