What is sulastic ?
SULASTIC is an elastic (rubber spring) suspension that reduces and in many cases totally removes the vibration and shock caused by the leaf spring suspension, improving safety and overall handling of the vehicle.

Key benefits
  • Increase in vehicle stability by 20% to 30% increasing the angle for turn-over by 4 to 6 degrees
  • Reduction in vehicle vibrations by 60% to 80% while signifiantly reducing excessive tire temperature caused by excessive vibrations
  • Reduction in braking distances by 10% to 20% keeping all 4 tires on the road during braking
  • Increase in driver control by stabilizing vehicle weight over all 4 tires

Q. Will these affect my ride hight or load capacity of the truck?
A. The answer to your question is no, the Sulastic does not affect either the height or the loading capacity of your truck at all. The product is designed to fit your truck and only help you with the vibration, balance and the over all driving control

Q. What type of warranty do you offer?
A. We issue a one year warranty against material or labor defects, and a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee.

Q. What could happen to my vehicle if the Sulastic Rubber Spring breaks?
A. The only way the Sulastic Rubber Spring can break is if the rubber is detached from the steel. If this happens, then only thing that would happen is that the spring's work limits would make a harmless metal cranking noise.

Q. Could I have an accident if the Sulastic Rubber Spring fails? A. No, the Sulastic Rubber Spring is attached directly to the vehicle chassis. Therefore, any eventual breakage would never affect the vehicle's axis

Q. Do you sell the Sulastic by piece or by the set? A. We sell it by set, the set is of two Sulastic.

Q. Could the truck bed hit the tires if one of the Sulastic Rubber Springs breaks? A. No. There's a rubber separation between the axis and the chassis that protects the axis, making it impossible for the tires to have contact with the truck bed. This situation might be different for trucks that have been modified with lowering kits, larger wheels, etc.

Q. Is the Sulastic Rubber Springs' performance affected by extreme weather conditions? A. No, the Sulastic Rubber Springs have been designed to perform from -22 degrees Fahrenheit up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Q. When should the Sulastic Rubber Spring be replaced?
A. Our springs are manufactured to last at least 10 years. This period could be shorter if the vehicle is used constantly under severe or off-road working conditions.

Q. What type of maintenance is required?
A. The Sulastic Rubber Springs don't need to be cleaned or lubed, only the bushings have to be replaced every three years.

Q. Can the Sulastic Rubber Springs be rebuilt?
A. No, only the metal parts can be recycled.

Q. Is the Sulastic Rubber Spring affected by frequently riding over muddy conditions, sand, and / or se A. No, the Sulastic Rubber Springs are protected by an anti-corrosion coating, and has no parts where leaking can occur. You should only rinse them with water once in a while, when washing your vehicle.

Q. Can I weld the Sulastic Rubber Spring?
A. No. The rubber can detach from the metal or get damaged when exposed to temperatures over 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

Q. Can I install my existing Sulastic Rubber Springs on another vehicle?
A. It is possible, assuming that your new vehicle uses the same Sulastic Part Number. Please use our part locator to verfiy compatibility.

Q. Will the installation of a Sulastic Rubber Spring void my vehicle's manufacturer warranty? A. No. Manufacturers, distributors and sales representatives have to honor the warranty. However, they are not forced to pay for any damages that might be caused by the Sulastic Rubber Spring. For these purposes, Sulastic has a separate liability insurance program.

Q. Does it lift or lower my truck when the sulastic is installed?
A. In some vehicles it can lower or lift the truck no more than 1/4 an inch.

Q. For how long have your product being in the market?
A. Our product has been in the market for more than eight years.

Got mine on Friday. WIFE Approved!!!! They really help with the "kidney shot" bumps, almost not even there. Best mod on the dually yet until the lift gets done!!!

-EROracing
Yes I will agree with the above statement. These really helped with the concrete freeway as well as everyday jarring bumps money well spent. Thanks Nick.

NorCal Nick installed the Sulastics for me last week. They eliminate that immediate spring-to-frame harshness induced at every bump. They also eliminate the annoying vibration in the leaf ... the feedback-whip vibration (spring-stutter?) immediately after a bump. The Bilsteins had already tamed it quite a bit, but the Sulastic shackles totally damp it out.

Two weeks ago NorCal Trucks installed the Sulastic Shackles. I wanted to drive it a few hundred miles and before the assessment.

To clarify, the truck is still a truck. I can't say it's a significant improvement but enough to reduce that gut wrenching harshness from the rear and the rapid bunny humps. Much softer, enough to take the edge off which is what I was looking for especially when the gas tank was empty. Wish I would of done this long time ago and well worth the investment.

I just got the Sulastic Shackles put on yesterday. And let me tell you what huge difference to the now what stiff bounce in the rear. Soon as I drove away from Nick's shop and went over the speed bumps. WOW. I actually feel like I am driving a car. No more going over bumps, dips and have the rear end feel like it just hopped side ways on you. I would definitely recommend these products if you’re looking for a better quality ride and smoothness to your truck. Major difference.

Thank you Nick for the Bilsteins that seem to be perfectly valved for my stock setup along with the sulastics that got installed today together and WOW, what a difference !!! Not my Lexus, by absolutely makes me happy about driving the truck again and I know the wife & kids are going to appreciate it as well on our next road trip...

I have had the Sulastic springs installed for a while now and I was very pleased with the ride improvement. One way I could describe it is that the rear suspension is similar to the front now when going over bumps. It is much smoother as opposed to the harsh jar that was there before. They are made much heavier than the stock shackles also. I would recommend them if you are looking for a smoother more "car-like" ride from your pickup. Thanks to Nick for a great product.

Have had the Sulastic springs on for a couple of days now. Made a very noticeable difference in ride quality and they were well worth the price. Much smoother ride and less jarring from the back. BTW, Jeff at Nor Cal Truck was very helpful and gave good information. One of the better products I've put on my truck.

Got the Sulastic Shackles Installed and damn!! What a difference.

I got a perfect spot my my house to test out Suspension stuff, a Railroad Crossing, it's not terrible, but it makes you slow down to go over it.

When my suspension was 100% Stock, I had to hit the brakes and slow down. Then I put on the Bilstein's, and I could keep my speed, just let off the gas as I went over them. Now with the Bilstein's coupled with the Sulastic's, I stay on the gas and barely even feel the bumps and dips. But all-in-all...Bilsteins coupled with Sulastic's WILL give you a 1500-esque ride.

Not that I know of. It is about a 2 hour job depending on what tools and skill you have to speed it up. We can give you some pointers to help if you chose to do it.

They are talking about the urethane frame side bushings, cost are $30 .... but,

The product was developed to be used in other country's that have worse road conditions than US and there "Sulastic" terms where directed to that kind of use. Here is what my main tech here at NCT stated about replacement.

My thoughts are that the bushings should be (checked) periodically with routine maintenance miles replacing is the wrong word to use because each truck can be used very differently in 3 years time. Another thought is even if the bushings needed to be replaced every 150k it is minimal cost for something that improves the ride that much. As far as lasting the life of the vehicle, few parts will make it that long shocks should be replaced every 100K or less and they cost way more than some bushings. I'm not trying to come off the wrong way I'm just defending a good product.

Are these bushings something that can be bought at a regular parts store, or do they have to be special ordered from the Sulastic manufacturer?

Thanks.

just curious, but, how long does it take from ordering to receiving? my order says processing.
thanks

on edit...

ok, i feel stupid now, just checked out on the front porch and there they were :D

):h Depending on the time of day they could ship the same day of order. We don't really have a cut off time we just get as many orders out as we can every day:thumbsup:

Please post your thoughts on the product when you get them installed.
