If you have rear heat, could you measure (O.D. is fine) the diameter of the hoses that go to your FRONT heater core? You may or may not have seen my thread about trying to get the rear heat working on my Suburban: http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?t=18064

It's possible that the wrong size hose is being used for the supply line to the front core. Before I go and drain AF and start switching hoses around, I was just looking for some quick clarification. Hopefully this shouldn't take you more than about 2 minutes.

If you can, please measure the outside diameter of both hoses about 4" away from the "T" (I noticed that one of my hoses sizes down after it leaves the T).

For reference, the front core lines are the ones that come off the "T" part (make a 90* turn in the connector). And, the supply line comes from the T-stat housing, where as the return goes to the upper right corner of the radiator.

For more clarification of what to measure, take a look at the link above and go to post #20. Look at the first diagram, #'s 11 & 12.

Thank you very much!

Sorry guys, I should have been clearer. Actually measuring it is not so important. I'm curious if both are the same size or different. Which one "necks" down? The one from the T-stat or the one that goes to the upper corner of the radiator?

I'm thinking (although, granted, that is not always the best thing to do:rolleyes5:) that the line that goes to the front core from the T (initially comes from t-stat) should be smaller. That way it acts as a restrictor to help equally split the AF to the rear (since the rear line would basically be heavier and harder to push the AF through).

FERM: Just to clarify, you're saying the "inlet/supply to the front core" should neck down?

I'm pretty sure that the hose from the T to the core goes from 5/8" ID to 3/4" ID at the core, and then the line leaving it is 5/8".
