I've got 2 MA audio 120XE 12" comp subs in custom boxes under the seat. It's powered by an MA Audio 2000D 1600w mono amp. 0/1 wiring. Some off brand 5 farad capacitor. It's been doin me fine for the past 4 years, except when my first amp caught fire in my Grand Prix GTP.

had that happen to me. scary shiit. couldn't get it out quick enough. afraid it was gonna burn the truck down, tools and all... :mad:
 
I worked in the audio industry installing and selling moblie audio and video for years. We sold and installed Memphis, Kicker, Kenwood, Pioneer, Rockford back in their good years, and best of all JL audio.
as far as door speakers JL audio is beyond excellent. sound quality is awesome out of these speakers. i have a set of JL 3 way XR's that are in a custom made fiberglass mount that i built. i will get you all some pics. the only brand i have heard that sounds better is Focal. Focal are the best!! price is way high but so is quality.
Subs and amps JL is un-beatable in my opinion. Pricy but excellent.

cost efficeint wise i like kenwood excelon mids and kicker amps and subs. Great quality and price is reasonable with these two brands.
 
I put two shallow mount Kicker subs under by backseat and it sounds great.
 
Nice i do like Kicker they are still a solid brand. i will work on getting you some pics of our installs.

My next audio project is 6 JL audio 6w3's ported behind my seat. it should rock.

Also i have a custom box with 2 JL 8W7's that fit an extended cab classic body under rear seat that will put many dual 12" sub combos under water that was in my 99 Z71. i am thinking about selling if anyone is interested.

Yeha it could have been cool. i may still build a new box for the subs when i find a new ride for my wife. I want to find a nice Yukon or Tahoe but dont want to make the payments!:doh:
 
I also have alway had good luck with Memphis, they have actually been my favorite subs. Arc audio has actually been very good to me as well.
