Stock vs Marine injector nozzles

Alright so I'm looking to rebuild my injectors. I was going to PM bk95td about this but not possible. I am not trying to start anything don't take it for that please.

So I've heard that the marine injectors raise egt temps. At least what I've read from a posting here so it could be because of another issue. I don't quite know yet but I'll do some more digging. What I'm wondering is if the advantage of marine injector nozzles is really worth it vs. getting stock ones rebuilt and pop pressures set correctly. I plan to run a lot more fuel than most and more than likely it will run some bio when I start producing it...

Has anyone studied the spray pattern side by side stock vs marine? And if so what were the results? And if there is already a thread on this please delete and point me to it if you would.

marine nozzles are the same price as stock ones. so it's not an issue of money as to whether or not it is worth it.
 
Ive always been told that marine nozzles give you a little better perfromance in the high rpm range. Also a member here has confirmed that his fuel pressure dropped 0.5 psi after installing marine nozzles which indicates more fuel was getting into the engine which would also explain the higher egts. i really couldnt tell you how much power you gain but if you planning on running a lot more fuel and you get quality nozzles and set them to the right pressure it would help performance. And for 120 bucks marine nozzles they are not super expensive
 
Well that is the norm to run the marine nozzles for performance but if you get the pops set the same and have a comparison it would be interesting to see just how much of a benefit it is to run them. Local guy can rebuild mine for $200 but to buy nozzles would make it $320 so it would save me a little money know what I mean? I'm not trying to cut corners by any means...

I drive in my Chevy Tahoe, the first Injectors and then I converted to Marine Injectors ... I thought they make more power because they have a better problem handling injection image and inject more ... but that was not so ... Take the Original ... you dont pay so much and have the same Result! Bosch are offered here in Germany, but also these are the same and the original be produced only in China!

With that in mind and based on reading for approximately 4 years, the Marine nozzle is not worth the extra cost.

Just get a stock Bosch Nozzle with proper balanced pressure, you are good to go.
 
I would have to imagine that the "marine" injectors would work best with a "marine" pump, better "non-gm" turbo, and better exhaust..... Just slapping marine nozzles in your injectors and not having the higher pop pressures and other supporting mods is useless, as is putting marine injectors in without the same supporting mods, I found that out the hard and expensive way.

Yea I wasn't planning on just slapping them on so to speak. I want to get pressures set and rebuilt by an injection service. And as far as supporting modifications goes...they're there. I'm considering running oil/biodiesel at some point though and don't know if it would be better to run marine nozzles or not...
 
Large holes flow more fuel. Lower peak injection pressures result. (peak is not pop) Less pressure means larger fuel drops that have to evaporate before ignition starts. This retards "ignition" and can raise EGT's by this alone. EGT isn't the sole measurement to worry about BTW.

Most of the time you are not at max RPM like a marine engine is. Max RPM is where everything is hot and the fuel evaporates quickly after injection vs. a cold low RPM engine.

Bio takes more to evaporate than normal diesel. So a larger hole and less pressure is not a good thing for it. I have run lots of bio (B99 commercial refinery AZbiodiesel) through my stock injectors. By the black smoke with a DB2 I could get plenty of fuel for that air the stock engine gets. Even with a 4" exhaust and and all the air mods you can cheaply do the stock injectors still do well with high fuel rates.

Bobbie Martin burned his Marine injector tips up and simply wasn't impressed with them.

Most of us run MPG fuel rates. The crazy ones like me run all the fuel we can get out of it. Stock injectors and DS4 will smoke even an ATT Turbo. The insane folks in a different class with 4 plunger pumps...

Stay away from the made in China S#it. They last maybe 30K miles. Then they stick open and cause hard starting and piss the fuel in the cylinder. Been there done that and know better now.
 
Alright sweet thanks WW. I'm going to do just the rebuild on the stock Bosch injectors that I already have. I've read enough about those damn Chinese injectors already lol. And yea I will be running as much fuel as I can hope to. I'm going about everything most different than everybody else does on here so hopefully what I'm doing works out. And later on if I need to run marines I will. Thanks
