What kind of job is it to change out the nose for a starter going from a manual to an automatic? I was considering swapping them out to see if I could whip the motor faster on my project truck since I suspect the starter is weak.
 
Normally I see the large opening MT versions on the autos I have? :shifty: So not sure this site is accurate.

Bison thinks the nosecones are shorter on 6.2 MT starters.

This is what I saw, also, and was the reason I was wondering. It's been over a decade since I had the starter off my automatic truck and can't recall what the one looks like on the manual truck.
