Is the part number the same for all vehicles with 6.5 starter?

Does the starter heat shield work with the Powermaster starter?

This picture doesn't look like what I remember.

I think I have at least one new GM starter heat shield around here someplace.

In a search I saw some aftermarket starter heat shields for this application. But I don't know if they'll work with the Powermaster starter.

Yes, it works with Powermaster.

I ended up using one of those heat wraps for my powermaster. it has Velcro strips on it to stick once in place. although I had to insulate the battery lug on the starter due to the foil layer on the wrap was arching out on the lug.

For the $7 part, I figure I'll keep the factory heat shield.

I thought if I wanted to wrap it, I'd sacrifice one of meat soldering blankets

the biggest fear I had when going the wrap direction as I didn't have a heat shield was the thought of the wrap holding the heat in. I had to convince myself the ends were open so air would flow.
