SS diesel supply marine injectors?

"Brand New High Performance Marine Injectors. Adds 40hp to your 6.5 diesel. These high quality injectors are re-manufactured in the USA to true marine specs."

His own website contradicts his product. It's just like "new and improved" it's one of the other, not both.

And as far as my opinion, I wouldn't use SSD injectors if I were paid to run them. May sound harsh, but that's how i feel.

Don't skimp on injectors, because it will bite you in the a$$, and hard too.

I bought the SSD. I'll keep the stocks and get them rebuilt later. Who would you get to rebuild them?

:frown2:

I'd personally send my injectors to Accurate Diesel. I've got multiple sets here somewheres i have to send out soon.

My 93 came with a set of his marine specials. they seemed ok. I was gonna reuse them in the CUCV after having them tested. Would I buy them from him ?? No. I only get remans from a local shop where I can go back in person and express my dismay....

If I wasn't going to do them myself, I'd see if BK95 would do them for me. That way I know damn well they have the right guts in them and they're done properly.

But that's just me.

I'm with the other guys here; if I was going to skimp on something, it sure wouldn't be injectors... that rates right up there with skimping on brakes or tires. You can put lots of cheap parts on your truck; only a few of them will hurt anything if they go bad.

But, I wish you well with your decision, and we always want to hear about things that are working well, despite conventional wisdom... that's how we learn, so keep us in the loop.

For future reference what injector should I buy and does someone on here sell them and set them up like yall r talking. I dont have the money right now but yall r starting to get me concerned about this so I am going to put it on priority! What should they be set at for a 6.2 N/A?

New? Bosch, Delphi, AC Delco.

Rebuilt? You need to know and trust the guy that rebuilt them, so they aren't put together with sub-standard parts.

JMHO.

well I've heard good things about Accurate Diesel (which i think someone already mentioned). That's where i was planning on getting my next set. I was contemplating getting a set of marines myself. but it's up in the air atm.

I keep reading posts and threads JPeart and a lot of what "I thought" is getting up in the air! LOL How many miles u get out of ur 6.2?

my 86 blazer was at roughly 370,000 kms when i sold it (stupid idea) and the engine was excellent. i actually had the bottom end apart at one point to redo the rear main seal and it looked new in there.

the 87 burb was at...440,000 kms or so i think. may have been higher. the body was a bit thrashed and rusty, but that engine ran so awesome i didn't care.

the 95 6.5l is at around 200-210 kms, but i've got the engine apart yet again. It's been a long project that i hope to finish soon. well at least the engine part of it. i doubt ill ever stop messing with the rest of it.

Was curious my odometer says 296000 miles but dont know if its the original engine. Cant help but wonder if I am on borrowed time! LOL It sure runs, shifts and drives nice tho.

Is there a significant savings with remanufactured ones? Who is a reliable remanufactured injector vendor?

When buying new stuff you should always get the pop pressure balanced before installing them. I think for a 6.2 the Pop is set slightly lower than a turbo engine.

Accurate rebuilt my last set and they aren't 'bad' but i am questioning whether a couple are going bad, but I am currently blaming my 276,000 mile IP.

BK95TD will be rebuilding my next set (I have 3 sets already boxed and ready to ship, just waitin on $). After drooling over Barry's multiple engine over hauls and freshening ups he has done I am confident he will rebuild injectors with a very meticulous eye and quality parts.

well the 87 burb had 275000 miles on it when you do the conversion, and i'm pretty sure it was the original motor. it was the strongest runner i have ever had. not pretty though. or fast what with 4.10 gears and no od :D. generally these motors seem to go out early or last forever (assuming they are well maintained). So if it's running strong i wouldn't worry.

Unfortunately, i am speaking in generalities, and i can guarantee nothing.

helpful aren't I ? :hihi:

I am talking to Barry now. What do u do if u dont have a set to rebuild? Get some from a junkyard and get them rebuilt? These things are expensive! Dont know what to do,,,,,truck runs great, no smoke, easy starts.

Yep Jpeart u veryyyy helpful. Well I drove a Olds Cutlass Ciera for 308000 with nothing but tires battery etc so based on that I am gonna figure this thing is good for 400000 miles. With that number it will be a while b4 I need another truck. My last truck was a 1985 GMC 454 4 door dually and I had it and never put more than 5000 miles a year on it cause I always have a fuel squeesing beater to drive.
