Has anyone had an experience with Dorman PMDs? I see the are very inexpensive online. I was just thinking it would be a cheap way to have a spare in the spare parts box while traveling, if they are any good.
I've never used a Dorman, but Leroy was/is having a good sale on flight systems pmd. Thats what I've been running for 2 years now without problems. I just got a new spare with Leroy's cooler and installed it on other side of license plate, so if old one starts trouble, I can plug it in and go. I have an old plug in spare to keep out corrosion. Somebody here must know source of Dorman
Dorman is Chinese if you care.
My flight systems are made in USA and on sale til they are gone for $125, but its plus shipping. So should be around $134ish shipped.
idk about the doorman pmds, but I bought other doorman electrical parts:
doorman window regulators for the rear doors on the 01 suburban. 1 year warranty, lasted 8&9 months, warrantied, last 6 months each now out of warranty. Sorry kids no window for you.
doorman electrical harness brother in laws ford. 1 year warranty. yup 2 months replaced under warranty. tail lights flickering again and traded in car 3 months later.
doorman replacement pigtail for turn signal wifeys mb. lasted 2 maybe 3 months and bulb connections are loose. Replaced with benz original part and swore off doorman electrical for life.
Your results may vary, but I doubt it after reading a little online about doorman electrical parts.
