i have a 97 2500 6.5 with 192xxx i bought the truck a few months ago and been driving around and truck was running fine towed traliers no problem then 2 weeks ago the lp died so i got a new one and truck was fine, then i filled my tank w clean off road fuel and drove around for a couple of days and then truck started losing power and skipping then died thought it was the lp again or filters so i changed everything new stock filter and i have a secondary filter just for extra protection, and another new lp, and i drained the off road fuel out of the truck an flushed the lines w clean diesel cause a friend told me the bactrica could have grown in the tank and lines. i then bleed the system until i got pure fuel and started the truck and it idled fine could chuck reves it rans fine went down the road maybe 1/4 mile and truck started loseing power and seemed to be skipping and then truck died i checked line to see if it was sucking air but lines are new im trying to deterimin what could be :mad2: me and a friend are thinking injector pump but down wanna replace and still have same problem i started truck last night and was ideling fine and could chuck revs and then let it warm up oil psi was around 40 at idle and when it starts to get warm thats when it starts acting up any ideas guys i could use any help.
thanks greg

i also hooked up a scaner and got codes p0231 for fuel pump so i temp wired up lp to a switch to put full 12vs to pump. my truck it starts blows white smoke for a few seconds then idles fine for a minute or two then seems to be loosing fuel and getting air bound but i open bleeder vent on filter and pure fuel no air, i did a few test that you guys said in another post (http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?13236-Getting-P0231/page3) and i get 11.80v with ko/ef and it cycles w the wts light so like i was saying ko/ef i get 11.80v at lp plug across the pins then when the wts light goes off the votlage spikes to 12.30v and then when the wts light stops cycling the voltage goes to 2.63 volts and fluxuates around that min 2.58v to max2.74v any ideas?

Maybe the tank sock? That would cause a lack of power and studder.

Check the PMD.

If those arent the issue and you have good fuel pressure under load from the LP then the IP might be getting weak.

put a piece of clear tubing on the return coming out of the IP. it will show any air bubbles that might be missed opening the bleeder screw. also use a fuel pressure guage so you know what the fuel pressure is when it acts up, best is just before the IP. also there are a couple of screens in the system 1 in the FFM and 1 in the IP inlet
