Is there a supporting vendor that sells the acdelco 180 and 195 thermostat for the single crossover.
If not does anyone know the part number or what year pickup to use as reference?

parts houses list almost nothing for my truck and dealer here is a caddy dealer, they stock nothing. I'd rather support our vendors anyways.

Talk to Leroy. He can get most anything, and he knows you will need the right one.

Good to talk to you Will. Im still checking, the 195 is very difficult to find. You said you would rather have a 180 so I'll be looking into that also.

Jim I'll pay you for the refferal next time :hihi:

I was only giving another place to look, ( no offense ment Leroy)I wound up getting my AC 195* single 6.2/6.5 w/ the 2 springs from the dealer for a cool 50$.... and then had to wait for it to come in... they are hard to find sometimes....

None taken.

There are no suppliers that carry it so far. Only place I found was Ebay at $27ish I have one more place Im going to check tomorrow if you can hang in there I'll get a good price for you.
At worst case Gates does make one also. I would trust Gates IMO unless I hear of negitive reports about it.

Rock auto has the AC Delco 195. Bought one a couple months ago for $19.95

I searched all my suppliers yesterday and even googled it to see what comes up. Rock auto did not have them, they do have the Gates though.
I have a brand new supplier that Im getting with today they say they can get them.

I got mine off of Rock Auto. It stated it was an ACDelco 190* part number #13191. It is a dual spring and is $23.79. Using them in both Gertie and Little D. Little D runs 1 notch over 185 in the winter and 1 & 1/2 notches past 185 in the summer. I have never seen really it move sitting in traffic or towing, maybe another 1/2 notch at most. I believe that day it was close to 100* outside and I was sitting in traffic.

I for a hummer, doesn't it use the same thermostat (without the bypass spring assembly) as a 6.2L Diesel does from 82-87?

I think so.

The single thermostat that we're famailiar with on the 6.5 and GMT400 6.2's is the spring-bypass version. AC-Delco is the only option for those any more because the Prestone/Robershaw stats aren't available any more in that style according to Kennedy. So a 195 is the only way to go now for the balanced sleeve version. It would be awesome if a supporting vendor would tackle getting Preston/Robershaw to make a batch of the 180 and 190 version of this stat for us.

For the early non-bypass stats Stant is making a Balanced Sleeve stat that looks a little different but may work good. I bought one last time I ordered stats on Rockauto. It should fit 82-87 6.2, 82-91 Sub/Blazer 6.2, Hummer NA 6.2-6.5, G-Van 83-95 6.2 and 6.5 NA, 1996 Single-Stat 6.5TD Only. I think the Prestone/Robershaw ones are still around for this application, and the AC Delco is as well in 190.

The AC Delco's I got from Leroy did not work in my crossover piece. They are taller than will work in mine. Leroy was great customer service and was trying to get $ back to me in a flash. Definately use Leroy when possible. He is usually less $, and is always better service.

It isn't that he got an incorrect part either, my cross over is unusual for the 6.5. I don't know why mine is different, I was just throwing one in because I was there for other parts, so I just dropped my other one back in (195 shorty). I would still like to find a 180 that would fit though.

Here is there shorty that fits next to the better flowing one.image.jpg
Measurement of allowable clearance.

No clue why 1 pic is upside down, and 2nd sideways-I can't fix it.
