showing off: my burb on the cover of a magazine ;-) DTR props included

Actually I was referring to the picture with the Burb behind you, with you in front it just looks like a Mini Cooper.

Leo

LOL - i am just now reading all the replies to this !!!
I have gotten comments like this before - indeed I dwarf the Suburban :D

Ahhh, helping to finance the long trip???? Good stuff, but we all already know the story :)

Maxxtorque is the only magazine I have ever subscribed to.

Ahem - no sir. there was no $ flowing on that one unfortunately. But it was a good practice to finally write something that is published. That is a lot of work! Of course you guys got the story FIRST !!! or at least excerpts - I did not want to bore you guys.

Maybe more people will subscribe to MaxxTorque and I get to write more stuff. I would have liked to go into more technical detail, but the heath mods have just been preached to death ;-) i mean it is clear who to ask and what to buy so i put a different spin on my story.

Outstanding article buddy! I just loved reading it. Wishing you a great and fun trip. My first trip in the Burb was from Elizabeth, NJ all the way across this great nation to Portland, OR. Great trip. I'm sure you'll have a great trip too.

-Rob :)

Thank you, sir! Portland, OR is a stop on our trip also. We have to have Calamari at the Portland City Grill, the best i ever had!!!
But I was alone on business so I want to share the experience with my better half this time.

Dude, your famous!

LOL - well I was semi famous before:
- over 1 year of bouncing without EVER smiling
- best BBQ burger in Germany
- "tallest (and biggest)" E30 ///M3 driver EVER
etc. etc.
ok maybe not semi famous, but there would be some cool stories.

Nick,

I just came back home after a vacation in Sydney - Australia.
I have a nice postcard on the fridge ;)

BTW, did you photoshop the burb to make her appear smaller or are you that tall ?
Better be your friend than your enemy eh ? :D

Hope you enjoy your trip Dude

Dude - i was wondering when you would finally get that, wanted to ask you about that.
(EVERYONE THAT DONATES GETS at least ONE POSTCARD) (HINT!) :)
No photoshopping on them pics, i am that tall ;-)
Enjoying every bit of it, currently in Miami, but will not stay here long ....

Thanks !

Nice article, Nick! Congrats on making it into print!

Jim

PS - you better get up into Canada...

Thanks Jim, if we do not run out of money we might try for Alaska. (through Canada)
Whenever we stay in a hotel i try to watch Discovery's the dealiest catch.
We did not have cable in Detroit so I never knew they made a series like that. Would so love to do that .... but i guess that is more a single man's career.
But we love Canada also, we visited a couple of times from Detroit.

Now thats cool!
you did a fine job of representing the 6.5 crowd.

Yeah, I was going to ask about the pic of you standing in front of the burb. The headlights appear to be lower than your butt.... It must be a edited photo or your friggin 7 foot tall! :D

Smitty

Well Thank you also, i hoped to represent the 65ers worthily, not having been a part for as long as most here and from a totally different background, i was worried about that .....

and yeah - ALMOST 7 feet ;-)

You are 2" high, Odlaw... now you know why we keep the comments about his lovely wife to a minimum!

LOL !!! ROFL !!! now that made us both laugh out loud !!!!

represent! good job!

Thanks again !

OK, dumb question. How do I follow the progress of your trip. Do you have a real time lay out on a map?
I looked through off topic, but must have overlooked it. Do you have a link to the link?

dieseltowingresource.com/lupoblog just updated 4-14..... see signature and profile at left ! and the link is also in the magazine.

You can stop by my place, its right off the 101 North of Santa Barbara, CA, which youll probably be traveling. And then you can put me in the magazine for resetting your TDCO :) If you still need that done when make it out here Id be happy to do it.

Great article!! I have to agree with Pepp! Would you be interested in writing a couple of essays for me??:)

Sure, I am writing some technical manuals and installation instructions on the side already. just PM me with details ;-)

The second part of the story which should be in the summer issue will feature all my adventures and of course I will give props to whoever deserves them ;-) That would be cool, i might take you up on that, but will come by even if I do get it done before that ;-)

You heading into New England at all? I'd like to meet the legendary LUPO!!!

I have a nice sharpie you can sign my truck with!
